Thread: worrying

Really, so getting through to the next round is not a positive? Hmmmm

And if they think that it can’t done in modern, low block riddled football, look at Falkirk.

    Unleash the shackles.,,

What I don't understand is why we aren't trying to build on the playing squad and getting the couple of players in that might push us further up the league with a view to next season. The owner having deep pockets and short arms may well bite us in the erchie. As unsavoury as it may seem, survival is our main objective. It just sticks in my throat that we appear to be settling for mediocrity and not trying to put a product on the pitch that will excite fans. This is an entertainment business and the club need to remember that. Fans aren't going to pay money to watch us chase games and try and scrape a 1-0 win against poor opposition.

Hardly worrying, still have games in hand, no one's gained on us in the last couple weeks in the bottom half

We've taken 4 pts, as have the fun, livi 2 pts, Killie 1 point, the sheep and st mirren nil (and falkirk)

Worth taking a step back and look at things with perspective sometimes

We should have 6 Pts without doubt but we took 4, feels like a defeat but it wasn't

It’s worrying because we really don’t look like we can win a game right now, mate. Whether we’re the better team or not, the stats show we’re being outplayed in almost every match. We’ve only won six league games all season, and a fair few of them came with big caveats.

St Mirren was a penalty and a late red card, we weren’t winning that otherwise. Falkirk were down to ten men. Celtic were getting beaten by plenty of teams under that clown at the time (still massive credit for doing it), and we should’ve been about 5–0 down at half‑time. Dundee was right at the start of the season when they were a complete mess with no identity, a new manager and still figuring themselves out, we got bullied the last derby.

We’re mentally weak and genuinely horrific on the ball, just so bad to watch. The manager is being stubborn as **** with this back five, and Ferry can’t cross a ball yet that’s our number one tactic. I actually think we’ve got decent players, but they’ve been coached out of any resemblance of a coherent football team, probably because of the shape we’re playing.

Its a worry. If this team ended up in a relegation play off i honestly dont think we would win it. And games in hand just means more excuses about “a busy schedule” when we don’t win them. We seem to be very vocal with our excuses. Just try to win a game of football ffs.

Agree with most of this and while i said a few weeks ago we wouldn't be anywhere near the bottom 2, while I still think we wont be in the bottom 2 it is a bit more worrying so I get your concerns.

I'm not making excuses for JD as the bottom line is what we are we seeing is nowhere near good enough but maybe the state of the pitch isn't helping .
How on earth can any side play their best floorball on that surface, its a disgrace . it wouldn't surprise me if that is a contributing factor .

It's probably a pointless stat, f*ck me I'm turning into Shedka🤣, but last season we finished 39 points behind Celtic, we are currently ONLY 25 points behind them. So a lot of teams have been much more shyte this season. A couple have been massively improved also of course. Just saying like

I'm not disagreeing, the season hasn't worked out overall but fit various reasons, I'm still of the mindset that mid table second season in the big picture is not big deal, it's consolidating in the top fight and without chopping and changing manager is a breath of fresh air and one we should stick to for me

I would say though with picking our wins, and trying to say we are lucky or things went for us, it's churlish as I can do that with the defeats and especially the draws, many of which we could/should have won but didn't due to refs, var, goalie errors, pen misses etc

Also the thread is called worrying, and right now, depends on what the worry is, if it the pitch and the lack of passing, possibly yea, it's not league status as we are pushing up points again after that poor run of 4 to start the year, we've hit 30 pts now too, unlike 5 other teams
