A double second-half VAR intervention denied the Clarets a share of the spoils in an epic encounter at Turf Moor.
The VAR crew robbed battling Burnley whilst unashamedly staring them in the face, resulting in a most undeserved 4-3 home defeat. From 3-0 down the Clarets went 4-3 up only for VAR to cancel Flemming's goal out for a mystifying toenail offside decision in the build-up.
I try not to write in hyperbolic text but this defeat was not justice for the Clarets and Hannibal Mejbri most certainly did not deserve to be on the losing side. His performance today was bordering on the super human, his energy, skill and commitment was really quite incredible.
Even after Brentford added an injury time fourth goal that would have killed most teams off, up popped Ashley Barnes with a last minute strike to equalise and put the home crowd into ecstatic eruptions. Sadly, VAR had other ideas to ruin the comeback of all comebacks and ruled "an accidental handball" spoiled the Clarets celebrations.
VAR needs to go.
