Three months on from when this thread was started, we're worse.

So, why hasn't he been sacked yet?

No way he should be sacked.

Are you honestly happy with the way the team is performing under this manager? Are you confident in his ability to set up and motivate a team? Do you agree with his steadfast belief in his failing system? Or are you just happy to tolerate absolute mediocrity?
These are all genuine questions because for the life in me I cannot understand why some folk are calling this stability?

Sometimes I'm happy sometimes I'm not, depends on the result I guess. Never once this season have I watched us and thought the players weren't up for it or motivated.

I?m totally split down the middle now. There?s a big part of me that it?s time for him to go. This three at the back dogma has cost us big style this season. Up to and including Friday. The fact the SSBs are now out makes things feel even worse as a massive opportunity has now been lost. Additionally sometimes his decision making is bizarre. Second half on Friday we?d finally got in to the game and Camara and Agyei were totally dominating the midfield so what he does he do? Subbys Pan. And as a consequence the last 15 mins fizzled out as a damp squib when the game really was there for the taking.

The other part of me though is realistic enough to appreciate what he?s done since coming in and the importance of stability. Plus, were he to go who exactly is out there to take the job and would be better?

It?s a tough one no question. But if he wants to stay, we really need a strong finish to the season. We?ll stay up but if there are some damaging defeats chucked in then unfortunately I reckon his position really will become untenable.

How many times have we fell behind and had to chase?
How many points dropped from winning positions?
Will Jim's post split record continue and we drop a position or worse, and lose out on prizemoney?
We have won and kept a clean sheet in the same game twice this season, twice !!
Let's add in that we have won 1 cup game against prem league opposition under Jim's tenure, it's embarrassing.
    More lost revenue.

Jim has no courage, no self awareness, can't adapt and can't motivate.
In my opinion the only reason he is still in a job is because he's happy to be Ogren's puppet.

He's had 3 years and we are going backwards, waiting for October/November to see if it works out is not an option.

Time for Ogren to show us some ambition and get someone new who can analyse whats needed in remaining matches and then maybe we can hit the summer window with a proper plan.

    Ye i agree.

At the start of the season i was so optimistic seeing all the foreign boys play well and look like they were adjusting well to Scottish football and were also a breath of fresh air but roll on 4 months or so after that period and we are now just really predictable and not easy to watch at all and are still shipping easy to defend goals at the back.

Goodwin for me needs to stop being stubborn and now that we're out the cup and don't look like finishing 2nd bottom then we should be looking to play a back 4 and get Cleal Harding more games under his belt for next season......but he won't.

Your last paragraph pretty much makes it clear why he needs to go. Even if he was to change his system now there's not much risk, for me that sums him right up. Too scared to take a risk, shut the gate when the horse is three fields away. His negativity has spread throughout that squad and we are beaten before we step onto the pitch, his negativity is why the fear spreads through the team when they are trying to hang onto a lead instead of taking the game to our opponents. Get him to f*ck

Stubbornness is 100% correct, 3 is just not working we lose the same goals over and over. We also have the Collum thing where DOGSO means that we actually need 4 at the back to ensure there is more players at the back to ensure a pro foul is not DOGSO.

Dolcek is a strange one I get the Rangers game where he failed to track back. But he tracked back against Falkirk the other night. His pass against Spartans for Fatah's goal. That guy should be playing more. Unless there is some bizarre contract clause we are not aware of he had the potential to be our Rudi Skacel.

I feel this is technically one of the best squads we have had in years I think that showed at the start. But it has failed to Gel and improve, why is that? Say what you want about Pressley he seems to steadily be turning the ship and their team is improving. Worry for our next game.

I was a fan of Goodwin. I like to see United win games by scoring goals, more than the opposition. If Goodwin had a go in games and we were beaten I wouldn't have this grievance with him. The fact that he sets us up the same way, we then endure the opposition going ahead then he changes formation but United trying to get going after going behind is godawful.

Take the shackles off. Set us up from the first second to take the game to the opposition. If we lose, we've had a go and given the opposition a game, I'll accept that. This meek excuse of setting us up with getting outnumbered in the middle of the park, inverted wingers, a sweeper keeper, mobile "defenders" and wingbacks get it binned.
