I only hear him on Albion match highlights but not sure I would want to listen to him for a whole match.

Whoever we are playing I tune into the commentary of that team as can?t stand Johnson as he?s a clown!

Yes, I know he can talk s h ite at times and can grossly exaggerate individual performances and too often excitedly cries "there it is!" when the ball hasn't actually gone in but he can equally be bang on about things, pointing out, for example, if we are too open, not pressing enough or create things but don't have enough players forward to take advantage. His passion and bias are pretty obvious but he can also often read the game quite well and be aware of our failings as much as he over exaggerates and both he and Gez give credit where it is due to the opposition despite their very obvious bias.

I do understand that he is very much a Marmite kind of figure though and whilst he is one of the game's "characters" from a different era he can also be viewed as irritating and too much of a buffoon at times. When my Dad was recovering from a spell in hospital recently, one of his Re-ablement team was a lovely lady who is a neighbour of AJs and knows him well. She recognises this latter side of his character and says he is a good laugh but is also a genuinely nice bloke. I obviously don't know him myself but don't doubt her assessment. Still, each to their own...
