    Interesting...

There's been a lot of talk, all season, about our poor start to the season. I went online and got a League table based on game 11 onwards. We were 3rd. Is this what we might reasonably expect next season with similar or better quality in the squad?

Yeah I think having a fit squad from day 1 will be massive. Not sure even how much we need in the incoming area.

Patrick will be a big miss though.

Pat will, indeed, be a huge blow. A lot will depend on who leaves and who replaces them and also do any of the Academy lads like Eames or Allen break through and deliver.

I hope key signings are Ozoh, Bobby Clark, even BBD When did we last have such good loans?

I like the look of Banel as well. Unfortunately, as Burnley are coming back down, they will want him back for next season.

Szmodics? Considering his age and what Ipswich are said to want for him, it's everything the club's stated incoming transfer policy isn't. He's not young, not going to get any better and not going to generate a profit, or even a transfer fee, 3 years down the line. I'd be surprised if we bought him unless we can get him for 1.5M max.

When has a player turned it around how BBD has? I never thought he was as bad as some made out early on but hes been very good of late.

Briefly, Gary Teale. Signed in 2007 from Wigan, for maybe 40 games he was shocking, then by some miracle (or some ringer adopting his life) he turned things around and for the next maybe 25 games he was unplayable, earning a nickname a bit like Matt Clarke has done recently, Tealinho. His form then drifted a bit again and his contract wasn't renewed at the end of 2010

Also, Bruce Rioch had a shocking first few games, I recall the BBG crowd cheering his replacement during a game against Burnley. He soon turned things round and emerged as a real battering-ram midfielder

I guess the 2007 era, Robbie Savage is an example. Poor start but ended up a good player.
