Purposely waited until the mud-slinging and knee-jerk stuff had dropped off before commenting.

Actually thought we were okay first half. I thought Baptiste had a blinder down the right side and was working well with Biancheri, who himself had a good half aside from the misses (these things happen, he's a kid and will get better). Gore was everywhere and every bit as involved defending and attacking. Benson seemed to be trying too hard to do something special rather than keeping it simple. No real issue before their goal.

After they scored, when we needed to go from being mostly in charge to absolutely charging at them, we just slowed down and offered very little. Not sure if there was a reason for the swap down the right, but Hall/Martha instead of Baptiste/Biancheri wasn't as effective. Can't comment on what happened after 64 minutes because I left, knowing we wouldn't get the three goals we then needed, and had slowed down to a stroll in any case. Not the earliest departure this season (just) but not a lonely walk back to the car.

Clark's assessment after the match was more interesting than the second half performance. Seems to me that his language indicates he's not just here until May. I'm torn on whether that would be good or bad right now. Clearly very passionate, but we had that last year and it fell apart. Also lacks experience in the division we'll be in, which we had this season and that fell apart. If he stays, he needs a proper number two and to be given the tools to work with - I don't think he'll get the latter.

Pure apathy for me right now with what happens on the pitch.
