From JJ Watt:
Premier League stability is our vision of success. We?re obviously not there right now. We fully understand that the supporters aren?t happy with the current results. Nobody is. Not the manager, the players, the staff, the board, nobody.
It?s the best league in the world, which also makes it the most difficult league in the world. There?s a team worth billions of pounds who won the Europa League last year sitting in the relegation zone with us at the moment. And I know, there are also two teams who got promoted with us currently sitting in positions of safety. Trust me, I know.
We are trying to figure it out. We are trying to find the best possible solutions to maximize our potential and bring that vision of Premier League stability to reality. Conversations are happening constantly, analyzing the successes and the failures of past seasons, current season, planning how to attack the future differently so that we increase our odds of success, etc.
If I had the magic answer, I would?ve already implemented it. But there isn?t one. It?s a constant balancing act between the finances, the roster construction, the transfer strategy, the playing style, the man management, the culture, the staff, the commercial aspect, etc etc etc. Ultimately you have to find a way to squeeze the absolute most amount of potential you possibly can out of the circumstances you?re operating within. And we are constantly trying to do just that.
I want this club to be something the supporters are 100% proud of, that represents the history and tradition of their great town. The player in me wishes I could train and play and step out there onto the pitch to help bring the results we all want, but I can?t.
You may choose not to believe it, but I care very deeply about this club. My wishes are the same as yours. I will continue doing what I can to make them reality.![]()
