It would make much sense Soulman to appoint Morrison. He knows the club and the players. You can interview ten who will promise the earth and not deliver. James Morrison has provided enough to show he has what is required.

He may last 12 months or he could be here for a lot longer. Results will predict the length of his tenure should he get the job. One thing is for certain, the club and many of its followers have short memories and are short on patience. We should not expect instant success. We need to manage our expectations. Next season should be one of consolidation and rebuilding.

If I was Patel I would need to be convinced whoever he appoints is the man to lead us to the Premier. Obviously he needs to do his bit by backing us with quality players and getting rid of the dross.

Coventry were worse than us in 2023 when we finished fifth. Clearly Lampard has done a brilliant job and not just with money. He signed Grimes their best player for 3.5 million which was around 1 million less for Heggebo! The new manager whether it?s Morrison or whoever must be the next Lampard and that?s not too much to expect! Might take a 2/3 years but must be done.
