But has failed to show it on the park 75% of the time.
I get that you're a big fan of Pressley but the fact is that 8th is never better than 6th and, no matter how you spin it, there's no getting round that.
I didn't want him at first and believed it was a terrible appointment. However I've mellowed a bit over the season and, in reality, he's probably done better than I expected him to; outside of the derby performances. I was one of the 'down by Christmas' mob and I'm honest enough to admit I was wrong but, again in reality, I wasn't far wrong really and we're still not clear of relegation threat three games from the end of the season. I do however have a decent amount of confidence we'll avoid that and am hopeful of an 8th place finish but believe we'll be 9th or 10th.
Next season will be very telling for Pressley, he needs to improve performances on the park and, ideally, league placing even if that's just certain to be clear of relegation threat early enough for us all to have a relaxed run in to the season end. He has nowhere to hide next season, it'll be his squad from day one and there will be no shambolic start like there was this season. Mind you, with Nelms in charge there's no real guarantee of that.
Hopefully the owners back whoever is manager again next season.
Or even push the boat out but that is probably wishful thinking.
If they get a decent whack for Graham you never know.If it is Pressley he will at least have a full pre season.
To be clear of relegation early enough is finishing 6th......otherwise you will only be 7 or 8 pts max from 11th......it's setting impossible tasks
The fans have been far more jittery than the team, the players I've met and spoken too are very complimentary of the the coach and the tactics.......aye they would be.....but most talk up Elvis without any prompting.
