Time flys Lloyd it really does. I can remember most things in my early twenties including the pubs and night clubs in Brum - Sam Wellers - Boogies - Snobs - Millionaires - Rum Runner - Lacarno - Faces - to name but a few! Seems like yesterday. My days seeing West Brom from early on were with Laurie, Cyril and Willie. I remember going to the Final at Wembley when we beat Port Vale and at Man Utd when we beat them 5-3. 68 was a bit early for me.

I was at the 1968 Wembley Final. I saw all the games of that cup run except the Southampton replay down South. It was a night game and I attended the match with Stafford Rangers at the Hawthorns because they announced that anyone who went would get vouchers for the semi final and the final should Albion progress. Those vouchers got me my semi final and Final ticket and the rest is history.

Hi Wazzo , I went to every round and replays , the 2nd replay against Liverpool was a nightmare we had to get of the coach and walk half mile and got in about 25m into the Ist half could of been later .
I could have even stood by you for many of the games ,

Word for word that is my story. I too went to every game except Saints away. A girl in my school class dad worked on the turnstiles and she tipped us off they were giving away vouchers. Was it a Staffordshire cup tie? Seem to remember the voucher had 2 tabs X for the semi and Y for the final.

I was physically sick with excitement on the steps of Wembley after that goal a year and a bit after I'd cried on the steps at the other end.

Still got my Wembley ticket stub C13. Best day of my then 14 years.

Congratulations to those of you fortunate to have been there. I think I may have been busy on the day. Very busy. S hitting my nappy as I was only 138 days young at the time. Still, at least the Albion have won a major trophy during my lifetime so there is that. COYB .

I watched it on TV, at that time I was scraping together every penny that I could to fund my foray into motor racing. By the time of that Cup Final I had already had my first races, the effects on my time and finances would be felt for some considerable time!
