    Not always it isnt.

Plenty of managers who stink places out but keep getting jobs.

Hodgson/Bruce what exactly have they ever done but walk into high profile jobs ??

Football is changing owners generally want a coach now to make players better that isnt my view its what I see.

Not only that am i correct in saying a large part of Ardley doing well at Solihull, is because he signed Andrew Dallas last summer

As I said, just my opinion.

Had we progressed to the play-offs semi, would that have been progress?

Regarding IB, it's quite hard for me not to think that others must have thought he has done well having been heavily linked to the Lincoln job and given the FGR job in League 1.

Any way back to NA , for me his success at Solihull should only lead to the conclusion and confirm what a poor manager for US! He went out week after week employing his dreary version of retaining possession to win games or more importantly not to lose them. As far as I'm concerned IB's teams created more chances in 2 games than NA's did in half a season. Anyway back on track as far as I could see and read from their fans forum Solihull he started of in the same vein as he did us , winning but winning bad , ugly , boring football with limited chances. Somewhere along the line he seems to have elevated his own standards and changed them for pug ugly footy team into potential free flowing promotion winners. So therein begs the question , if he is such a good manager then why didn't he do it for us , either in his relegation battle , or his two promotion stints ? The records are there for us all to see , he failed on all accounts , so can we please stop this rose tinted spectacles malarkey that he was a good manager for Notts , He wasn't but he might just have turned into a good one at Solihull by using or stumbling onto a different approach, whichever it was he didn't use it at Notts, we were pug ugly !

all i have said is NA was better than IB and the final league position shows this, two 3rd place finish and finals against IB two 5th place finishes, as for IB,s team creating chances i never saw it against Grimsby, Notts would have never scored in a week , unless from the penelty spot
I have already said i do not care what kind of football is played, this is a results orientated business , points on the board or winning play off matches is where it is

However you do raise a very good question, if we have deecent managers , why do they never do it for Notts ??

No it was a tight game in which we had an obvious penalty denied by serendipity or a bottling referee, they scored an offside goal with a touch of the globe trotters involved re handball (possibly) which stood. If we can overlook the fact that we were 20 seconds away from the semi final due to a rookies push in the back on the edge of our box we could have been possibly winging our way to west Ham for a final
P.S we only scored from a penalty as he decided to stick an arm out to prevent a shot on goal going any further possibly into the back of the net

This is why i have long said there should be VAR for play off matches

Did you not see the florest game? VAR didn't work as we are told it should. Huddersfield should have had at least 1 Pen. VAR didn't even look at the most obvious one. Yes, Huddersfield still have to score it, but the decision making didn't do it's job.

You will know I was one of NA's biggest critics. But as seen yesterday by singing a player with no Head Coach in place that the style of play is down to what the owners want, possession football. A different style to what Ardley knows, hence his problem at Notts, the same as Nolan, Hardy wanting fast attacking play completely different to KN,s ethos. Again the Owner sourced players he wanted.
Not saying NA has become a Saint but was working under constraints that didn't suit him.
