True but not all teams will drop away, even if they do, another form team will take over, and it unlikely to be Notts because they are not consistant enough

I disagree with this sentiment. We are a point further away. 2 points/game minimum are needed to get out of this league and we have just dropped 2 more points to take us 5 points behind that target.

Agree, let’s face there’s about 99% chance someone is going to come in for RR, hopefully the club can manage it. I would hope conversations are taking place now to say to him give us the season and u can go in summer if the bids right. The club may even surprise us and we actually strengthen as we’re not overloaded with players.

There's some encouragement that Chesterfield have dropped a couple of points, so we haven't lost any more ground, but potential title-challenging teams often emerge with a run of results in the mid-winter months when other weaker sides have a blip.

If we can take, say, two or three points from the forthcoming games against Chesterfield and Wrexham, then we should look to take maximum points from the other games against Dagenham, Southend, King's Lynn, Dover and Barnet. We should be capable, and if we deliver, then we'll be in a strong position by mid-January.

That would be an ideal return from that block of seven games and the key is to remain unbeaten and win five out of seven. It would set us up perfectly to head towards the business end of the season. I don't think it's insurmountable to target five wins from seven games when the likes of Dover, Kings Lynn and Southend are totally uncompetitive at this level. It will be extremely disappointing if we can't get 9 points from those three games. Then build on that in the games against Dagenham, Barnet. Against Wrexham and Cheaterfurlough it's a case of stopping them progressing so would take draws from those two games.

It doesn't work like that though. You need to take into account the opposition as if we need a 2 point average, it means we don't always expect 3 points.

Disappointing, but BW and Chesterfield should be more disappointed dropping points at home.

Chesterfield won't be to dissapointed when they realise none of the teams won that were close to them, they got away with a poor result

Agreed, which is why last Saturday's result was damaging. 2 points/game average means sometimes you have to be over that and I don't think this season we even been up to that. Cheaterfield and Boring Wood are over that target already and can afford the occasional dropped point. We've now got one less game to play catch-up. I don't see it happening.

Yeah the fact that we haven’t played any of the bottom fairly terrible 3 sides is a source of hope.
