I watched our club nearly go out of existence, and despite only assembling a squad as the season started, we finished 3rd in the league after it was cut short and made the play off final. I also saw us get to the semi final of the cup.
Since then I’ve watched us mount a similar promotion push and hopefully we’ll go a step further and get back into the football league.
Off the pitch I’ve seen new owners that seem to be level headed, patient, and have no interest in the spotlight being on them.
It also looks like we’ve adopted a transfer policy of signing players in the ascendency of there careers. Lacey, Rodrigues, Roberts, Wootton. All young and all seem to be improving (Robert’s injury aside).
So yeah, that’s where I’ve been for the last two years.
It isn’t the pinnacle of my time supporting Notts, but I’m actually excited to see where the current management team can take us with this refreshing new approach!
So we have nearly been out of existance before, the former so called farcical owners took over and saved us , most new owners have started off being popular, we do not yet know how we will feel about our current owners at the end of their time?
I dont accept that we only assembled a squad as the season started, many of the players had already been on the books for months, and training throughout the period leading up to that season.
So what we finished 3rd, there are no prises for that
As above all new owners are usually popular to start with
There is no refreshing new approach, its been largely the same for over 2 years
The only valid point you might make, is signing players in the ascendency of there careers, instead of journey men at the end. However a mix is probably required

Only 4 wins from the 4 away games will shut the pitchfork brigade up???!! That's depressing to read.

I must stress again having read Pedro's post Torquay had won 4 of their previous 5 games before they arrived at Meadow Lane. That's no slump nor mini slump.

The reason Torquay are not doing so well is mainly down to injuries
Ardley has no such problems at Notts County, with a much bigger and in depth squad, and most likely an open cheque book to bring in other players, if it was neccesary

Hello Swale - are you SwalePie because you live in Swaledale perchance? If not please ignore, but I am in North Yorkshire and thought I might be the only Pie in the village.

    Oh dear laddo..
I said they are in a mini slump...which they are..
I never said they were in a slump when we met them.
    Are present tense
    Were past tense .
The point is if we had been positive that night we could have beat them.
Time has gone on to bear this out as they are not the unbeatable team Ardley thought they were and as such set his team out nullify their attack rather than focus on ours.
He even says it in his post match about the threat of their forwards.
Like I say results since they played us have dipped.
If we had tried to attack them from the off maybe we would be raving about 3 points and not a well earned point it was...
    Negative approach
    Nailed it Mein Furher ...!

Lovely place! I finally left Grinton, in Swaledale in 2013 but still have many friends all over the northern Dales of Yorkshire and Durham. I also lived in Upper Wensleydale for a while, not far from Hawes.
