Anyways I see once again we're back to the debate:
those who defend Tam and the team based on our current points and position, against those who are unhappy with what McNulty and Clark do in the final 3rd.
I think its unfair on the former to accuse the latter of being negative, we all post on a Utd mad forum ffs, we are all Utd fans who invest a lot of time and/or money.
For me strikers go through bad spells yes, but its twice in McNulty's case, he doesnt do nearly enough to warrant being picked, he's a waste of a shirt. Clark is similar but at least offers something as an impact player.
From 6th Nov they've scored 1 league goal between then in open play. In that time in the league, we've drawn 6 games and lost by 1 goal on 6 occasions.
We are 1 point off 4th but 4 off 10th. Its easy to see the ifs, buts and maybees, however taking something from 1 or 2 of those 12 games would have been massive.

It boils down to who's to blame:
Tam for continuing to pick players who dont contribute enough or Tony for not providing options so that Tam can rotate.

I'm of the opinion that our defensive recruitment and coaching has been great, but our attacking recruitment choices and coaching are responsible for potentially blowing the chance of getting a European place and the funds that go with it.
That is why some are vocal.
Blowing our chance of a European place? 8 months ago on here nearly every poster was saying we'd get relegated with the cheap manager option. Yet now with a few games to go we're mentioning Europe! That says to me that Tam has exceeded expectations (which were zero). No quite sure what some fans are expecting. Relegation was the talk but that doesn't look likely.

Ok let's just agree to disagree.
But imo this is the soft attitude we need to get rid of.
Yes a lot of talk early doors about accepting 10th or better, but the defence has performed way better than most would have thought, that gave us a good base and indeed put us into a position to be lucky.

This year we have been so lucky in terms of other teams not breaking away, in fact a lot of the time other results have went for us.
The teams that finished,4th and 5th last year are currently in the bottom 6, all teams from 5th down have conceded more goals. When you look at that you have to be thinking top 6 is a given if our forwards do their job. It's a missed opportunity if we dont.
Somehow despite not scoring many and not winning many, we still find ourselves in with a chance of top 6 and Europe.
If McNulty does what you would normally expect from a striker we would be in a much better position.
Points make prizes and the final 3rd players have let the rest of team and the support down, especially if they finish 10th

There seems to be some misplaced arrogance among some fans just now. Putting our position down to luck and other teams faltering. Maybe Tam realises our short comings and in training focuses on our strengths (defence). Expectations before the season were 11th or Doon. We're no where near that. Pretty sure there were some on here going on about the Fun being miles better than us with guys like Cummings, Griffiths and Adam. How did that work out?? All gone or crocked and McGoo in charge--ill take our situation over that circus any day.

Well said! The vitriol towards the manager is pathetic from some folk, more so other online platforms than here, but ffs, the guy has us pushing for Europe in his first ever season as a pro manager & only two seasons after being in the fizzy pop league. Some folk simply don't like the guy for whatever reason and seem to be waiting by their keyboards for our next defeat. Boys screaming for him to drop Clark & McNulty. To play f*cking who exactly???

Good point on the Fun having a better squad than us. I mind that. 😂😂😂 Paul McMullan is their best player ffs. That about sums that one up.

I for one am looking forward to next season & seeing what the manager can do without (hopefully) having one hand tied behind his back because of transfer window cost cutting. I'm sure he knows where our failings are and is thinking the exact same.

Yep, Twitter best avoided--some absolute window lickers on there. This place is slowly getting there with the misplaced negativity too. No quite sure what people will be happy with. Third in the league with a guy who has never been a manager before?? Keep dreaming. The manager who has won more trophies outside the two cheeks in the last few years is staring relegation straight in the pus now. But, yeah, Tam is clueless(moving Liam Smith to midfield and playing great was just a fluke).

I enjoyed the game yesterday, had a bit of everything. Some guid fitba, controversy, referee abuse, great atmosphere. This is what it’s all about.

Considering who was missing and who had to go off thought we did ok. Liam Smith in midfield is a bit of a revelation , think he enjoyed his cracker of a goal. Ross Graham, yet again, what a start to his United career. Phuk knows what the Pars and their fans were havering about. ( DOON again )

Shame it wasn’t the three points and fourth however a point for each team probably fair.

PS Butcher excellent again. Well done to him.

Twitter was on fire berating the manager for playing Smith in the middle of the park yesterday. He was being called every name under the sun. EastFootball was just as bad. Puss shut big time, the lot of them.

Agree with all of this. I really enjoyed it yesterday. No hiding from the fact we were poor for 25mins or so but it was a good game to watch and I came out happy with the way the team fought in the 2nd half. Definitely gave me a bit of belief for the remainder. I'm even lookin forward to Monday night now.

To be honest I'm not seeing much vitriol towards Tam on this forum. What I see is several posters who feel our recruitment has been patchy and a disappointment that maybe Tam isn't quite getting the best out the available players. I haven't seen anyone suggesting on here we should change the manager but maybe I missed that.
