What we don't know is the exact fitness level or 'carrying a knock' is for each player like those in the club do. It's easy for us to say, well I wouldn't start with that 11 without knowing all the facts.

Old school football had one sub allowed, and you were always going to start with your 'best 11'.

Football has changed (including being faster) and now it is a squad game. At this point in the season it will be rare to see less than 15 players used. Maybe there were some players who it was thought couldn't last more than 30-35 minutes, so not worth taking that risk in the first half?

Many on here will disagree, but I don't think always playing the first half with your 'best 11' is necessarily always the way. Ask Pep.
*I agree with you, certainly in the fact that we dont know the fitness levels of how some players were with regards to knocks, but at least in Chieo's case, if he was fit enough to play one half, which he did, then it should have been 1st half, because at the moment I dont see tutu giving us anything as a winger, and whilst he is clearly speedy he hasn't shown me anything yet that warrants him even coming on at all.
I certainly believe PW is trying to keep quiet about certain players so as not to alert the opposition, and I saw something yesterday when he said that only 8 players trained on thursday, but we should be starting with the best players available and yesterday was a disaster in the making from the starting 11 selected, although the way Shrewsbury played yesterday I'm not sure it would have made much difference because they ran us ragged from around 15 minutes into the game, but that has now gone and we must focus ourselves, both players managerial team and supporters for the final push. This repeated claim about our"small" squad, isn't it the same size as everyone else's squad in this league.......?

PW has clarified today via the press that Chieo is always an injury risk since his time out last season
Miller,s injury will take a long time to clear up totally
So if they are playing a lot of 98 minute games in quick succession then their long term injuries could flare up and put them out for the season.
So it's a balancing act and a risk . The next two weeks should hopefully reduce that risk and put us in a good place for April

Flour, What if Chio, Fergie or JJ get injured playing international football? The club should have refused to let them go if they think the issue is so close to call, Liverpool do it regular why can't we?

    Yes fair point
Rufc are saying that they are in close contact with NI and RoI and they have promised to manage their game time minutes accordingly
    Not ideal

I just realised that this International Break is to play friendlies! Who in their right mind allows this to happen when it's well know that there is always a fixture congestion at this time of year whether it be in the Premiership, EFL, FA Cup, Champions League...etc. Take a bow FIFA/EUEFA/FA.

If there's a chance for the FA to make some money, they'll do it, whether they're friendlies or not.It does seem ridiculous at this stage of the season where fixture congestion is a major problem but they don't seem to care.

We are helping them with their careers than actually saving them for our promotion race
