Even if he had given him grieve, which by the way you have no evidence to support the fact that actually happened, then the correct think to do is to be the bigger man, shake his hand and speak to him away from the pitch. If that is the type of behaviour that you are happy with then fair enough, but I think it is unprofessional and fuels a fire of Anti-evans (and by association Anti-Rotherham), it is not good for the club or for Evans personally.
Eh? Your response makes no sense. No one knows what happened but you think Evans is at fault. All I tried to do was give the situation some balance before most people condemn him.

From what I saw Evans was the bigger man and walked away trying to avoid a confrontation. It was their Manager who was being aggressive, pointing the finger and shouting.
Can,t see a many people acknowledging or referencing that, and yet you’ve mentioned being unprofessional and being the bigger man.
If you were in the company of someone in pub or restaurant who had been giving you grief for 2 hours would you shake his hand when you all left. You,d be a mug if you did.

The ‘bigger man’ as you put it is likely to walk away and try and diffuse the situation when someone else is being very aggressive ie Caldwell….spelling?

We don’t know what was said leading to to the final whistle but we certainly do know what went on after the match had ended

I've no problem with a manager refusing to shake hands and telling the opposition manager to p*ss off if there's been bad blood during a game and a genuine fall out has occurred, but it's a such recurring theme with Evans that it's hard to believe he's always the 'victim' of the piece. Just google 'Steve Evans refuses to shake hands' and there are multiple incidents across the years with many different managers, it's just what he does and when TS appointed him he knew what he was getting involved with and must have been prepared to accept that.

Maybe Caldwell should try approaching Evans in a petrol station and telling him how great he is. He'd shake his hand then and tell the whole world about it.

A lot is getting made of the handshake thing, and personally I don't think it's a bad thing whatever happened. As a fan I would prefer the manager to have a bit of passion and deal with these things however he sees fit - it's the board's job to worry about whether or not they're happy with his behaviour, not mine. After last season, I'd hope that we'd see more spirit from all the team and management, and if they cross any lines it's really not something I'm concerned about.

Piss poor performance, and both the manager and players were at fault to some degree. I'm not part of the SE fanclub (never was) but as I've said on other threads, it'll take some time and fans should give him that. We're not going to miss out on promotion because of Saturday, nor has it relegated us. It felt all too similar to last season but we've got three home games now (and a solid chance to bang in three wins), so hopefully Saturday can be put away as a bad day at the office, and we'll get some form found ahead of trickier looking games after the next three.

Let's not bemoan a bit of passion or displays of principles - last season that was in very short supply.

I still want Hugill out though...

I’ve just seen the video of Evans not shaking hands at the end of the game!

    Appalling behaviour from him!

He spent a summer building that team!

    Horrible!

Ok, i’ve read the reactions. What do people expect? We knew what we were getting. A big ego, spin, bragging, pseudo humility (that’s being generous)
But all will be put aside by TS and most fans if we are “challenging”. It all makes not a jot of difference what we think.
The success we have had in ten years never came completely by accident, we scraped by in some respects at times. Were dire when it went wrong.
Planning? Method? Like it or not, that only came with warne. We haven’t actually had many managers! So Evans is second behind. As Evans’ seasons needed numerous player adjustments midseasons to rescue them.
Lets hope there is sufficient nous planning behind this campaign.
We will soon find out. Lets not kid ourselves, with what he has signed it has too much ‘journeyman’ about it.
Akin to buying success rather than building, without actually buying. The last manager to go for ‘experience’ in the close season came a right cropper.

Read my post again then tell me how I'm wrong regarding James has been the stand out lb

So from the pre season games. Tell me how/which games bramhall has outshone James?? As these 2 are the only lb or lwb (if you prefer) we have used..

Btw. A little bit of airtime for you to crow about. Just let everyone know how many minutes of games time you have seen since the parkgate game??? We won't include extra time to keep the sums easy for you.

Mattock do you agree was a good left back for us think no older perhaps a bit younger than James is now by then he wasn't the same player. Younger players game playing full back you need to be able to get forward. Rafferty same he's no Tavs or Gerry Forrest.

2 home friendly's I'm judging it on. Tell you what put me off James I was sat just above where 2nd half against Sheff U he got forward tried to get past their player no chance then grabbed hold of him. Against Donny same 2nd half was no support to Hungbo on the left.

Without Rathbone we have no one to carry the ball through midfield. Today's game is all about pace and we are remarkably short of any other than the clueless Bramall. We seem to have signed hod carriers rather than mobile flair players.
