Possibly the lowest Notts have ever played in front of in a competitive match if it was close to the gate for their earlier match in this group against Leicester Academy (473).

Lowest gate we've played in front of before last night is either away to Sunderland Academy in the FL Trophy 2016 (633) or away to Dover in tier 5 in 2022 who never gave an official figure but it was said to be "600 odd", so I'd take that to mean 650 max but maybe as low as 550.

Edit: Watford away in the 3rd division South Cup in 1937 is listed as 500.

I was at the Dover game - the official gate was 753 and I am sure that over half of them were from Notts.

I probably wouldn't have gone to watch this game had I been in the UK, but being abroad, I had the opportunity to watch this game live, and I am glad I did. A thoroughly enjoyable performance by the makeshift Notts team. It was good to get a look at some of the fringe players and youngsters, and I thought everyone acquitted themselves well. I wouldn't be surprised to see one or two making starts in the first team before too long. Well done Notts. COYP!

I don’t like the competition, particularly the rules around team members which doesn’t apply to all the teams (the Prem clubs). So, I see it as a chance to give young and fringe players a run out and keep match sharp(ish), which helps our league squad if we get injuries during the season. So from that point of view I’m happy to stay in the competition for as long as it makes a positive impact on the squad. We should use it for our own purposes, which I think is what SM is doing.

This is the first year I can remember where this daft tournament might actually be good for us. It allows us to blood the young pros and gives minutes to squad players like Chicksen and Slocombe. More importantly, we actually have a squad that, for once, looks like it can handle the challenge.

I wonder what the most our away support has outnumbered the home support by? Assuming we did - I've strangely seen no pictures at all of the one stand they seemed to be using

It was comfortably bigger than those - there was more than 473 Notts fans there I reckon.
