But it didn't hit his hand and I can see no clip that suggests it may have.

Dalby was denied a clear goal and that 'official' should not be included in a refereeing team or on VAR duties until he has been through some kind of remedial training.

But the fact remains that we were done out of at least 1 point in that game, and probably 3 points.

There is nothing that we can do about it now; except let the squad know they were cheated and get them to channel their frustration in a positive way for the remainder of the season.

A few people have proposed the we have a 60 second time limit on VAR checks, and that is a sensible change to the use of VAR that I think the clubs and supporters would and should be pushing for before the start of next season.

The worst thing for me about VAR, at all levels (but particularly in Scotland), is that they are looking for excuses to disallow goals every time one is scored. It makes going to a match a terrible experience for the fans in the ground and shows zero consideration is being given to those paying a lot of money to do so.

So......... If one of the old firm players have a decent strike from outside the box and it goes in, albeit glancing an opponents hand in the box, does VAR change that decision and award them a penalty??? (would it fcuk)

I know it's not the same thing, but, I'm concerned that things are being changed to suit whatever the circumstances are.

The rules regarding handball with strikers and defenders are different. If during the art of scoring the ball hits any of the strikers in the hand or arm the 'goal' is chalked off regardless of hitting any other body part first. If for example a striker heads the ball onto his arm and then he or a team mate scores its disallowed. If a defender does the same its supposed to be deemed accidental and no penalty is awarded.

There are different rules in Scotland if you play for Dundee United though.......

When a Funster defender with an outstretched arm handles a cross coming into his box VAR does not get involved therefore no penalty.

When a United defender does the same albeit heads the ball onto his arm VAR does get involved and awards a penalty even though the on field official awarded a corner.

When a ST Mirren attacker takes a dive in United's box and the conned ref awards a penalty VAR decides its not a clear and obvious mistake and put the kettle on rather than get involved.

When Scotland's top scorer adds to his tally and puts United 2-1 up in a crucial game,VAR decides to overturn the on field decision to award the goal due to not being able to deem him offside and sees a handball to make up for his failure to draw the lines,FACT.

Very similar to the Ryan Edwards red card in my opinion, still don't see anything wrong in that one either.

Yeh, just seen that he was the on field Ref yesterday rather than on VAR. He even sent off a second Motherwell player in the second half which was an absolute joke until (for once correctly) the VAR Ref advised to overturn it. As things stand, his VAR decisions against Hibs will directly cost us third place and guaranteed European group stage football with the massive financial bonus it would entail. It’s corruption, 100%.

You all know my opinion on VAR, it's an utter waste, especially here in Scotland. However, there have been plenty of poor performances/results by us that have affected our potential push for European football, not just that one moment by VAR.

3rd place in our first season back up is probably too much to expect tbh. We've had a great season regardless. Perhaps if we hadn't lost key players for long periods we might have accumulated a few more points, and definitely we have been robbed of a few more points by some shocking decisions and blatant cheating. Hibs though are on an incredible run of form and probably deserve to be where they are ( shame they didn't panic and bin their manager really). A win today though will keep us right in the mix so fingers crossed for a strong performance 🤞
