Durhampie, this list is impossible to argue with. Only thing is, every manager in the world will have said they want these things. Some players can do these things and some can't.

Its not rocket science to notice when players are not moving into space, or cant be arsed to receive the ball from a throwing. These are little things that should be sorted during training sessions. But they happen every week, so it would seem they dont get addressed. Like everything else, nothing ever gets done..

About where I am at the minute, many posters seem to think that there's a queue of experienced, successful managers just begging to have a go at the job, I very much doubt it in fact it could well be that Maynard was the most experienced manager available when Williams left. I certainly believe that he needs some good people backing him up but he has done a reasonable job under difficult circumstances this season & is gradually gaining in experience. If there is a outstanding candidate that the owners have in mind then fair enough but if it's going to be another unknown lucky dip the old saying " be careful what you wish for" springs to mind. What has been clear from the outset under these owners is that they don't appoint or dismiss managers on a whim. They give the incumbent - whoever it us - plenty of time to put their stamp on the team, and then they judge their performance based on a large body of evidence and data, not a couple of good or bad results at any given time. And you're right, if they decide to make a change (as opposed to a manager suddenly being poached) then they will probably have someone in mind who they believe could do a better job for equal value.

Obviously this approach isn't really in tune with the emotional rollercoasters that are football fans and football message boards, but the big picture is that the method adopted by the brothers has seen us gradually moving upwards over the past five seasons, including a promotion, whereas the emotion-led chopping and changing of managers (and players) by previous regimes saw us gradually decline, dropping two divisions and going into financial meltdown.

We have secured a playoff place and worst case scenario could end up only being two wins short of an automatic promotion place. It could ultimately only be one.

This is despite the following;
1.) JJ league two player of the year has been injured for the most part.
2.) DC in the league two team of the year was injured for a time and wanted out last summer and was sold in January.
3.) A crop of young players in Johnson, Whittaker and Jarvis came in during January and had not played at this level before and had to be blooded into the team without a pre-season. This also applied to Traore who has come from abroad.
4.) Injuries to other players such as Robertson, Hinchy, Macari, McDonald, Edward’s, Bass which has caused disruption in team selection.
5.) The loss of Macca and Nemane in an attacking sense in the summer.
6.) The loss of two of the senior coaches in the Saunders Brothers earlier this year.

I believe that had some of the above six things not have happened we would have turned a few of those draws into wins and losses into draws or wins.

Of course there is room for improvement and things have not been perfect this is league two and I don’t dispute we could have got better results and performances at home. Overall though under the disruptive circumstances and amount of change this season we’ve made progress.

There is a lot SM could, for instance. Get them to move the ball quicker, Get the keeper to release the ball quicker instead of waiting until everyone is back, Get players to move into space when we have the ball, Get more players to want the ball from throwing's, Be more proactive with the subs, instead of waiting to see what the opposition does every game, Play players in their best position.. All basic stuff that we dont do.. This is why he has to go.

I?m sure he?s telling the players to move the ball quicker but sometimes players are just not at it and especially at this level, as with throw-ins, players have to want it.

I?m not so hung up on the subs as because of injuries I?d say our bench has been mainly weak all season. There?s been no one I?ve been crying out very often to bring on even though I?ve been crying out to take some off, I think his hands have been tied at times.

Theres obviously better managers out there but can we get them and will they do a good job at Notts?
I think he will go if we drop out the playoffs, if we lose in the playoffs I?m not so sure but I think it will feel for the best if he did go if that happened.

Out at the end of the season. No matter what the outcome is.

I've been reluctant to jump on the bandwagon but he just doesn't have it. It's been dire at times this season. Our position is more down to the moments if individual quality rather than the management I feel.

He's not been helped much by the awful January window or having his coaching team replaced. So the board have made mistakes there also. Set him up to fail really.

Traore moved into space numerous times on Monday playing on the last man. What did we do? Ignore pass it side ways. Go through the "system". Can't think outside "the box" might up set the rhythm of play. Looks like it's gonna prove costly.
