I was looking on Twitter last night and someone had put on that they'd paid £3.50 for a Twix. Someone had said that £6.50 for a drink and chocolate bar.

    Incredible!

It’s incredible that somebody would pay £3.50 for a Twix, it would stop on the shelf for me.If they buy it at that price more fool them.

According to figures France v Belgium game at NYS, attracted 8,173.

It would seem the Euro championship 2022 has broken attendance records, for the Women's Euro's.

With 15 games to go the total attendances are 248,075

The previous record was the 2017 Women's Euro Championship games played, was in the Netherlands
    which attracted 240,055 in total.

Yes, but basically it’s a set of lies, dodgy figures compared to other dodgy figures.

I agree on previous points that numbers might be based in tickets issued, freebies etc but really there’s no excuse for it. These are modern grounds with electronic turnstiles that log every ticket scanned. So real attendance figures are easily available

Basically it’s just a con to hype up the women’s game

Having accepted (somewhat grudgingly!) that the figures 'might be' based on all tickets bought and allocated, why does it bother you do much that you'd care to post about it multiple times on a message board??

You may be right that the tech might be available to count the number of those who actually attended, if you're part of trying to raise the profile of the women's game, to professionalise the sport, create industry and jobs that could go with that, why would you choose to publish the lower figure?

But most importantly, why does you or anyone give a t0ss??

Simple really, I don’t like being lied to and I’ve never fancied following the herd of sheep

If you’re happy to be conned then that’s fine by me.

By the way, I’m not wanting them to publish the lower figure, just the correct one

But why, when it appears that just about every club, including your own, publishes the number of tickets sold, rather than number of people actually choosing to attend, does it suddenly bother you when it is the women's game that do it?

    Linking to a bbc article on this just as I know you trust the source;

Its neither illegal, nor secret. Just businesses trying to use data to make themselves seem that little bit more successful than they actually are, from Manchester City down the Spud-u-Like Irregulars 2nd XI.

Again, why care, just cos its the women's game?
