Who knows whether he'll stay. My guess is he'll be off. I thought the same a year ago, but think it's even more likely this year.
Do you think he and the club agreed to to him having the captaincy if the odds were likely he was off, no one looks good in that situation.

That's exactly my point. I think that's what they've done. If I had to bet my house, I'd say he's going. If Ruben left for Oxford ...

Have you not enjoyed the football of the last 2 or 3 seasons? It is miles and miles better than most of the dross I have had to watch over the decades.
As for last season, it was not the owners fault (nor SM's) that LW walked out on us mid season. That was absolutely the worst possible time to go.
And what about all the off the field ventures. Sound system, complete revamp on the pitch (with undersoil heating possibilities), The Nest with its' potential to considerably improve the clubs' finances.
These things are gradually moving the club forward to help provide a more enjoyable experience for "most" fans.
Slowly, slowly catchee monkey. The results will come.
If you want to look at badly run clubs, just look at their pitches, toilet facilities, refreshments etc. I am sure Durham could rattle off a very long list in no time at all.
I think we at Notts County have got something to be proud of.
Having spent about 4 days on this board im yet to understand why some continue to support notts, if its as bleak as they make out why do they bother 😂

Also dont start mentioning all the FACTS about how much we’ve progressed off the pitch, you’ll get shot down , apparently it all means nothing because we had a bad patch of games this year…

I'd guess a fair percentage would happily swap the improvements to Meadow Lane since 1992 for facilities similar to what Luton still have, had it meant staying in the top three tiers since then whilst playing a more direct style of football and owned by people with a less than ethical business track records, given the choice.

I've no doubt also that if the club had gone bust in 2019 and started all over again in a new makeshift 5k capacity ground on the outskirts, struggling to get out of tier 8, some would be saying they've never enjoyed going to Notts more and that it's much more pleasant visiting friendly little towns and villages that nobody had previously heard of than going to Millwall or Leeds.

It's a matter of fact unfortunately that we are still pretty much at our lowest point in history and the gap between us and our nearest rivals is as wide as its' ever been, to the point that we've now got a generation of fans who don't even care about or understand that rivalry. We have finished lower than last season, but barely. The lowest we've ever finished is 97th, so we've just finished a mere 15 places above our own all-time rock bottom.

Ruben was out of contract? For Langstaff to go I bet it will take towards a million quid as he has 3 years left on his contract.
It’s quite likely he’s got a wage increase in his contract if we go up too, as you don’t sign for 4 years unless you feel it’s lucrative, L1 clubs would have been sniffing when he signed it so he was in a good negotiating position.

That is a hugely negative outlook.

I mean glass could be half full.

Our last 2 managers head hunted.
    Leagues top scorer.
    Leagues top assist maker.
Major improvements all around the club and ground.
    Best players all under contract.
    No longer non league.
Made loads of quality 'value' signings in recent years with new approach.

Granted awful defence last year but a general feeling of optimism and hope ( for most) and a good chance we will seriously challenge this season with strong seasons that we are fixing the Achilles heal.

We were in a far far worse position under Hardy and a far far far worse position under the trust with little to no hope. Munto nearly took the club under and then we got taken over by Ray Trew who put his Mrs in charge and between the 2 of them they demonstrated how not to run a football club.

What are you on? It's been a while since we've finished mid-table in the 4th tier.

We’ve been really good at keeping our in contract players with these owners, which given the quality of some of them, is some achievement. Speculation of course, but I get the feeling that both players and potential buyers know that Notts County aren’t a selling club unless it’s a really good deal.

I suppose the downside is that the club is missing out on transfer revenue, but it appears that we think it’s more beneficial to keep players to the end of their contracts wherever possible. I’d love Jodi Jones to sign an extension.

We are very privileged to have such a great ground. If you have had the misfortune to visit some of the sh*tholes that i have visited over the years then you will appreciate more what we have.. Barrow. Halifax, Bromley, Aldershot, York, Portsmouth where there was a clear plastic sheet for the door on the ladies loo...There was one ground where there was a tree growing through the roof of the gents toilet...

I’m remember going to the loo at Saltergate and looking forward for some cover from the rain which was short lived when I saw it had no roof😂
