Already, she's the first Prime Minister to be in office during the reign of two monarchs for absolutely ages.
You know the sort of s'hite we are going to have to put up with now though.
If she manages to look upset enough, statesman like enough, remember to wear a black frock and not trip over her own feet while laying a wreath, then her popularity will go up 10 points.

The bar was set pretty low.
Better as in.........?
I'd say she may prove adept at selling her "non" policies (clichéd, free market by numbers sh1te) to the odious, Daily Mail reading scum in Ingurland, plus she will get a "bounce" if she handles the nonsense of the next few weeks to the satisfaction of the reactionary media.
If that makes her "better than expected...." then, I'd probably agree.
But she'll fu cking destroy the country.
She’ll limbo right under it
Nah, because she'll take it seriously, it won't all be The Buffoon Show.
She's got her work cut out though, because half of them are determined to make sure she fails so they can get Boris back.
The mind boggles.

I've just been reading about energy costs. In 2021 Germany got 55% of its gas from Russia, France 17% and the UK 4%. In 2022 energy prices have risen in Germany by 23% France by 4% and the UK by 215 %. Can get my head round it ..is there a reason for this ? does anyone know ?
Sigh, what is it with you guys and facts. I guess UK bashing is much easier when you just ignore the facts - there is more than enough information out there to have a right good go at Westminster without making stuff up!!!
The French electricity/gas combined costs would have increased 120% but the Government have opted to intervene to limit increases to 4% (quote from French Prime Minister on Wednesday). I don't have the split between gas and electricity but I might guess that gas will be more than 120% up and electricity less due to their much greater nuclear power generation than the UK has (we produce much more of our electricity from gas).
On August 3rd Reuters reported that German gas prices are up 184% over the last year. The German Government have introduced a $65Bn plan to mitigate the price increase - just as the UK Government has done - but have also introduced a levy on each household of 500 Euros that will have to be paid to cover the cost of replacing Russian gas over the next two years
It wouldn't surprise me if the UK gas price has increased a bit more than Germany or France as we have much less gas storage than they both do (that is certainly a point worth bashing the UK Government over) so are more exposed to buying gas on the wholesale market, which is much more expensive than buying gas by contract
Nobody in the UK will be paying 215% more for energy due to the various mitigations introduced by the UK Government although one can debate whether they have done enough. You can also debate whether the relief should have been much better targeted at the poorer households than it has been, and let the better off households eat into their disposable income/savings more as they can afford it. But there is no free lunch here, every pound that is used to subsidise today's energy user has to be paid for by tomorrow's tax payer
As I said, fill your boots in UK bashing as there is plentiful ammunition out there, but don't just throw out made up numbers - facts are still important, even in this day and age!!
What was it Mason said a day or so ago about twitter driving the news and people believing any old sh1t posted???
