Our trade options lie more with India

Most of our population will be happy with that anyway

Anybody that thinks we will rejoin the EU must be living in a cave

    Yes.

Your turn. Do you ever read what you write before posting it? If the answer is yes, then go back and read what you wrote in post 139.

The EU will break up within the next 30 years.

I think it quite likely that the idea of the EU as a 'one nation' entity may well go before that. But the concept of them having a no trade barrier economic area that benefits all members, why would they do away with that? It benefits all businesses in all of the member countrues and is a trading no brainer.

    The landscape will definitely change.

We could start making things. White goods, cars, steel? You name it.

Nothing I'd like better than to see manufacturing return to the UK and replace the service sector as our core .

The country's relied on way too much cheap Labour for decades but it goes deeper than that because in my opinion an abundance of cheap Labour makes governments lazy and unwilling to change things .

However a return to major manufacturing requires investment , lots of it to train workers and tool up .

It also requires manufacturing businesses to make a profit .

    There lies the problem .
