I've come to the conclusion that the best selection criteria to use is to pick a manager whose name best fits the ".......red and white army" chant. I think ideally we need a 2 syllable first name and a 2 syllable last name so these fit the bill

    Gareth Ainsworth's
    Nigel Pearson's
    Gary Rowett's
    Danny Cowley's

although there are some exceptions that fit like

    Neil Warnock's
    Nigel Clough's
    Mick McCarthy's

but I'd rule out Steve Evans, Paul Warne, Chris Wilder because they are just too awkward to fit in

So I guess there's no need for Ange Postecoglou to apply then!

If you do what the Blades fans did and call him Chrissy Wilder, it fits ok!!

We're like kids at Christmas looking at a giant Lego castle in the shop window, whilst Mum and Dad have sneaked in to buy a box of stickle bricks.

That's probably going to prove to be correct. I've said on here before, just over a year ago we were on an upward trajectory and arguably the most attractive proposition for a new manager that we've ever been. The best manager we could attract at that point, with all due respect to him, was Matt Taylor. We're probably all living on another planet discussing some of the names we are doing considering the position we're in at the minute.

The reality is that we don't actually know whether any of the information in the public domain is factually correct.
Some names mentioned in the press are due to idle journalism.
Some names will be genuine and made public because an agent has thrown his clients hat into the ring, via the press.
The only people who really know who has applied or who the RUFC directors would like to approach are the RUFC directors themselves.
Everybody else, including me, can post their opinions.
These opinions could be considered, or otherwise, but they are probably not based on any factual information.
We need to just sit tight and wait for the official club announcement.

Bang on and bookies odds at this stage totally irrelevant.

MS, flipping the coin. You’re correct that at the time of taking on Matt Taylor, and being in a very good position in the Championship. all the names we talk of now were all in employment elsewhere hence why we couldn’t attract anyone.

Now we’re in the mire and a lot are available, they show signs they haven’t got the bottle for a scrap so do we really need that type of person at our club?

I gave you all a prompt earlier on with the betting @ 40/1…… Tony’s going for a drop down to league 1 unless this man can pull off a miracle.

Ex Miller, great servant, get it backed now David Artell……

As I'm currently lining up a pop quiz, that suggestion brings to mind a variation on a Billy Connolly song:-

    D.I.S.A.S.T.E.R
