Voting wise, you’re right though. Most JC supporters won’t vote for Starmer. Plus add into that the removal of the “donkey work” for the party. It’s well known in Labour circles, that on a wet and windy door knocking session, it’s always the lefties that turn up. The right wing of the party only like the sunshine and the photo opp!

I’d give Johnson 3 months at most now. Dead man walking.
As a former Labour member and JC supporter, the biggest reason for not voting for Tory Boy Starmer, is the fact that he deliberately threw the last election by jumping on the “Peoples Vote” bandwagon, knowing it undermined the partys position on Brexit. He was just a small part of a right wing, Blairite coup in the party… these people knew exactly what they were doing.

Two years on… Starmer us still too scared to release the Forde Report… he knows it will be the end of him and his cabal of soft Tories.

I’ll never vote Labour again.. ever.

We are in a political wilderness. I cannot name one politician (whatever flavour) that is worthy of leading the country.

Agree. The “left wingers” aren’t strong enough in their belief or ability to organise and control.

Mhairi Black From the SNP. At least she’s true to her ideals.

Two interesting by-elections today which might offer an insight into opinions on 'the leadership'. If Labour don't regain Wakefield they might as well give up, but Tiverton and Honiton looks an interesting one. The Tory MP who held a huge majority was forced to resign after being caught watching p orn (he was searching for tractors, honest!) in parliament, and now it seems to be a close thing between them and the LibDems. If the Tories do lose the seat, a few of their MPs in marginal seats will start to panic.

Exactly the same mate. I was one step further, standing for local council under the Labour banner when JC was leading. Always been a socialist and proud of it. Not going to argue with the modding dogs on here though about it.
As you say, the dots have joined up nicely for Blairites now. Forde buried. Starmer standing on a Tory lite manifesto (even though his 10 pledges when being elected were quite different!)
Fool me once…Blair in the first place….fool me twice now…
    Never again. As Smiffy said.
Total political wilderness now. No clear vote. Another failing of the left is to offer a clear alternative when the chips are down. For me personally, I’m better off out of it. The internal wrangles of the LP locally and Nationally were ridiculously bad. Dare say it’s even worse now.

Even in 'normal times', (No covid, no war) mid term by-elections are generally bad news for sitting governments, so given the circumstances we are in today, it would be difficult to read too much into the results.

Even though by-elections are notoriously fickle, losing one with a 24,000 majority and a 60% share of the vote would still be pretty spectacular.

If it happens you may not read too much into it, but a fair few Tory MPs might.

Pain, and suffering is part of human life. As much as people try to avoid pain, the reality is that there can be no gain without pain.

Mick Cash, the RMT’s former general secretary, took home a total remuneration of £163,468 in 2020, including £1,432 in car benefit. Steve Hedley, former RMT senior assistant general secretary, had a total remuneration of £94,016, including £2,945 in car benefit, in the same year. Former RMT assistant general secretary and now the union’s general secretary, Mick Lynch, had total remuneration of £118,450 in 2020.

Looks like these lads managed to reverse the trend . Some people are more equal than others .

Oh dear. Why are people who are so interested in the wages of elected union officials never bothered about the vastly greater wages of the executives who oppose them?

Whatever money he’s on, I’d say Mick Lynch is more than earning his wages at the moment. And if he isn’t, his members will vote him out at the next opportunity.
