I'd try to offload him now. His heart won't be in it.
If the fun will take his wage over then probably for the best.

I liked him but obvious that Micky doesn’t much as he doesn’t give him a lot of time on the pitch

Can't blame him in this day and age taking a guaranteed 2 year deal while its being offered instead of waiting a few months to see if anything came from United or another club. There is going to be a **** ton of unemployed footballers next summer, at a time like this you have to look after number one.

Aye fair point mate! Would agree with that like

And to quote the great man

Don't be too ambitious. Do the most important thing you can think of doing every year and then your career will take care of itself.
    Quite fitting isn’t it....

Mellon was very careful with his words when asked in his press interview. But reading between the lines:

We cant offer anyone a contract right now and the club didnt indicate that they'd be offering anything to McMullan (but we know Smith and Clark have been in the press about contracts - so the club have certainly indicated to them).

No too fussed about McMullan. How many times did you seem him get in a good position only to fluff the cross/end ball? No doubt he’ll look good in the Fundesliga but he’ll be the Scottish version of Barry Douglas—do well in the lower league then punted after promotion.

Liked his work rate, his effort, his certain ability to run direct. But his end result was woeful. Usually ending with a pained look initially across his face as if to chastise himself, then turning to a smile and you can see him saying "DOH! I dun it again"
