I don't think any are unhappy about it. I'd never heard of the chap until he passed away & it is a tragic story.

That said, it sounds to me like the club were put in an awkward position[/quote]

You're quite correct, Mason, I phrased my question wrongly.

How many season ticket holders would have campaigned for a minute's applause?

    None.

It's teenagers on Facebook & women that campaign for these things. Not really my cup of tea but I'm not fussed either way to be honest. Shame for his friends & family & it if it helps raise money/awareness then fair enough.

The Man U thing was odd. Do people other than mook support English clubs from Scotland!? Bizarre.

If you are young and a big fan of any club..you also have an ongoing battle with a tragic ending like he did..then just maybe his family whom I'm sure will be at the game will take something from that applause..

What harm will a minutes applause do..poor poor guy going through all that suffering...the family also shared in that pain..so I will be applauding with all I have with more than likely a tear in my eye for him and his family..

Boy I know from Kilbirnie is a Sunderland fan. Him and his missus go down about 10 times a season to see them.

There's a Glasgow Aston Villa supporters bus. Pretty sure there's a Man City one too. Whenever I see two folk in the pub debating whether Ashley Young is Man Utd class etc, I just think they look like tadgers

I would imagine the loon's closest and dearest will appreciate the support they will get in terms of the supporters having a minutes applause, what he came thru was the reason a friend of mine and many other people that did not know the loon Cammy personally ,volunteer and be donors, of which I am sure the family and indeed Antony Nolan Trust appreciate the efforts of many that have been touched and inspired to do something.

Hawick is 14 miles from the English border, I know a lot of lads down there that support English teams & some of them go every week.

I for 1 dont agreed with but that said dont really have a problem with it either.

IMHO there are far too many silences or applause these days.

As above could not understand the one when we played thistle having clapping at 12th minute in support of people doing their job.

On the opposite side why was there not a silence at the ICT v Utd game for the ex Utd player Redford (though I personally remember him for being a Blue not an orange)

For me should only have a silence for ax ex-player of teams involved or for a current player tragically taken early, or for an exceptional case - eg chopper crash, lady Di etc blah blah blah

    I don't have a problem with it.

He along with his wife were in the public eye for a while up here due to charity work done relating to what he had. He also struck up a relationship with a few Dons players to raise money by auctioning off AFC items etc.

If I was in his position I wouldn't have made my condition public but that's just me. What he did would've saved a few lives I imagine though.

Friedns of Cammy asked for it, a few of the players asked for it, the Club agreed to it.

    The End

Didn't know him personally but knew of him and know plenty of his close pals and they are over the moon with the tribute.

    R.I.P Cammy.
