    re: Where were you?

Managed to get a hotel near the Gare Du Nord, a mate who was living in Paris got it sorted.

I agree with AJ, the World Cup is a great event, probably be worth going to Brazil even though we,re no in it.

Have a hazy memory of staggering down the Champs Elysee singing Cigarettes and Alcohol with some geezer from Falkirk who had lost his pals and couldnae remember the of the hotel he was staying in or where it was.

Thing is, the boy just didnae give a feck

He probably woke up the next morning in a skip.

Did you attempt the metro system at any time? Phuck me, it took us about 3 hours to get home and it's a miracle we found that caravan park.

We were probably in the same campsite in paris. Arrived the day before the game and decided it was a good idea to get pished at the campsite bar before putting up the tent. Woke up the next morning in the leaning tent of Paris.

Stayed at a campsite in Bordeaux as well until we got fed up with the weather and decided to get some digs in Arcachon instead. Really nice place outside Bordeaux. I have vague recollections of the cafes giviing us a free bottle of wine for every 2 we bought.

Strange thing was, as soon as we got proper digs (OK with walls and a proper bed), the weather got better.

Arcachon was on the coast because we were playing football on the beach. Not for very long because a few folk were too boozy and one of the guys threw up in a flowerpot.

    re: Where were you?

I was three years old, so, safe to say, I've never know Scotland to play in a World Cup.

No one in my generation has.

We don't expect ever to see Scotland play in a World Cup.

My generation knows that Scotland is total dross at football and nothing but a slap dawg for any other international team that plays us.

There's no team that can't give Scotland a right good hammering.

    That's what my generation knows.
