If rangers had been playing in holland and gone into liquidation, that would have been it. No new club would have been allowed to join the league in their place.

The new Rangers called 'The Rangers' had to apply for the licence of the Old Rangers, it was turned down and they then had to apply for a licence/membership to the SFL.
The assets and history of the old Rangers were bought by a new seperate Company and then transferred across into the new Rangers called 'The Rangers'
The so called 'goodwill' agreement/carve up is where the problem lies.
