The amount of lost revenue to the club at this point is zero. All the people wanting to buy tickets/merchandise etc will buy at another time or maybe even use the 24 hour club shop online.
If I were in charge of running the club shop then I would open it on a non matchday Saturday as a courtesy to my customers but it would be running at a loss.
This is NOT a normal retail business. If my customers cannot get what they want from me, they will use one of my competitors. In the case of a football club, there are no competitors. (unless you fancy going to Hillsborough and getting your merchandise from there!!)

The sad part of all this is that when the shop is actually open the staff are friendly, useful and do a good job.
A case of yes we have no bananas.
Redhouse just stating facts, you got any ideas how to get best out of club shop.I have a track record in increasing sales, crowds etc and work with big organisations. And regarding i love me love, you are right i do x x x
Think you are being too idealistic here Tony, How many people actually bother browsing the store on a matchday ? Majority spend it in the pub & turn up just before kick off, certainly not enough time to have a browse through the merchandise & spending money in the club shop.Originally Posted by tony260674
