Cost-cutting will probably benefit Scottish football in the long run.

I don't think Celtic would've appointed a relative unknown if they'd had the money to appoint a big. That's economics.

[quote="happytim"]england seem to have suffered more than anyone else due to having big money in their domestic league.

spain, italy, germany and france all won world cups or euros in modern times while having rich leagues.

so why cant england be the same.[/. rev it's all about quick fix football in the e p l Murdoch gives them there £70 mil and they go out and blooter it on any **** just to get there fix the following season and not to drop out the league yet the up and coming boys don't have a chance

Man City are getting shot of Micah Richards, who is a good right-back. Just about sums it up. Sad stuff.

5.5 billion pounds tv money was pumped into the EPL this season. Less than 1% will trickle down to the lower leagues - 99% is lost to players and agents. Great tv, but it does f*ck all for the structure of the national game.

You used to get a run for your money watching England years ago but now they are gash . Look at Chelsea cracking youth system but under Josie they boys don't stand a chance

Capitalism overrides common sense in British football.

Look at Hull City and what's happened with their badge in the last couple of days. Supporters are treated with nothing but contempt.
