Wigan striker Grant Holt has attracted interest from Premier League side West Ham after dropping out of Latics' pre-season tour.
The former Norwich City and Rochdale striker had a loan spell at Aston Villa last season and appears surplus to requirements at the DW Stadium.
Holt will not be involved with his club for the tour of Germany and will spend that time getting fully fit and finding a new club.
The 33-year-old is understood to be available for around 750,000 and that has alerted the Hammers, who are in the market for another target man.
Hammers boss Sam Allardyce is a fan of the striker who could not hold a first team place down last season as Wigan narrowly missed out on the FA Cup Final and a return to the Premier league .

    Wigan.

This is the third close season we've been linked with Holt I think. About time the Kenwyne Jones rumours resurfaced isn't it?

Stoke seem to have signed Bojan Krkic. If he can reproduce his early promise that deal could prove to be up there.

I'm hoping it's Ajax captain and Dutch International Siem Jong going to Newcastle for between 5 or 6 million, missed the World Cup because of a pulled hamstring,it could be a bargain.

After selling Debuchy to the Gooners for 12 million we bought Dutch International Janmaat to replace him for 5 million, could be another bargain.

The best deal will be for whoever signs Ravel Morrison for a ridiculously low fee.
