Actually, Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae did no such thing.

Both were very late to the sub-prime mortgage game, and both had only a small share of sub-prime mortgages on their books, even that end.

Freddie Mac's nickname on Wall Street was "Steady Freddie" due to their conservative approach to investing.

There's a reason the banks are all paying Freddie and Fannie billions, they committed fraud, not the other way around.

Don't get your "facts" from U.S. republicans, they're often not facts at all.

Greenspan is probably the man to blame the most right enough.
