    The yanks are panicky because the UK is their wee lapdog in Europe, they couldn't care less about anything else. I doubt Salmond is serious about wanting planes and ships, just another part of the politics before the vote.

    You mean the guy that advocated for looser banking rules, the repeal of glass-steagal (which deregulated banks to make risky investments), who kept interest rates so low for so long that even he had to state the economy was experiencing "irrational exuberance", all of which led to the greatest recession in the world economy since the great depression? That Alan Greenspan?

    This is hilarious. The guy who more than any single figure in banking was responsible for the deregulation of the banking industry to give them carte blanche to do what they want which resulted in the collapse of banking industry. And of course us the taxpayers having to pick up the bill.
