I will not pass comment on Colclough until the alleged offence becomes an offence.

Ched Evans is a convicted rapist. His offence has destroyed the life of his victim. The crime is so vile and violent that it stays with the victim forever.

Getting into a fight with a policeman is: 1. not very intelligent; and 2. unlikely to last long in the memory of the victim. It is still an offence, but the perpetrator will not have either taken a life, nor affected one long term. It's still plain stupid though.

Please note the speed of the CPS here.

AL, you cannot judge what affect a particular crime has on anyone. How do you know if a date rape victim feels the same as a policeman that may have suffered a blow on his head that means he can't work anymore or has nightmares the whole time.

I just hope that if Chad Evans verdict is over turned you will be as generous with your apologies to him and perhaps turn your venom on the victim wh

As NEVTHEDEV has pointed out on another thread, the police are not beyond lying, although they are highly likely to be believed. If Ryan is not guilty I hope he has plenty of witnesses to support him but, until the trial, he is innocent and the Club is obliged to pay his wages unless there is a 'get out' clause within his contract. I can't quite see how he can be sacked for bringing the club into disrepute unless he is found guilty - would be a field day for his legal advisors I suspect.

As regards Evans (who seems to crop up almost as often as the Academy on various threads!) he has been found guilty and must be treated as such unless and until the verdict is overturned. Furthermore he has NOT served his sentence, he is out on license. His sentence was 5 years and it is at that point that it will have been served. Rape is rape no matter the circumstances; it is an abhorrent crime and no circumstances change that.

    Utter tosh!

    No matter what the circumstances?

    Hang the lot then hey?

So any woman can choose to have *** with a man and then half way through or the morning after, she decided she didn't say yes and so that was rape then?

There are many cases of women doing just that and some men are now behind bars as a result in addition to those acquitted or the CPS decide not to prosecute.

To say 'rape is rape' is the same as saying homicide is homicide no matter what the circumstances.

Many innocent people 'convicted' of crimes serve time and btw he has served his sentence and 99% of people released from Prison do so under the same licence as CE and are allowed to get on with their lives afterwards.

As mentioned before, maybe some would prefer him to sign on the dole for the next 50 years because he is too ill too work due

Just to say I shan't dignify that last piece of ***ist claptrap with an argued response as I would clearly be wasting my time and highjacking this forum to give oxygen to misogynist.

I can only assume this boy is stupid beyond belief and clearly doesn't value his career or his contract. I assume his contract is up in the summer and if that is the case, regardless of the outcome of his latest encounter in the court (more appearances there than at Gresty Road in a red shirt in the last 12 months) we should thank him for his services such as they are and bid him farewell. If guilty then that departure should be immediate.

Let's go beyond the usual right versus wrong arguments, and look at the stats.

If people want Ched Evans back, it's because over more than 150 games he's a 0.35 goals per game man.

Colclough, in around thirty games for the Alex, is a hair under 0.1.

Not all that promising, if it weren't for the two goals v. Tranmere just before his long period of injury started, though these have of course stuck in the mind and made it that he's believed to be the new Messi.

The Alex could have cut him loose already. Neil Lennon, in particular, is warm in his praise for a club that nursed him through over a year of a potentially career-ending back injury, saying that he knows few clubs that would not have thrown him on the scrapheap.

At least he repaid this faith by buckling down to arduous sessions of rehab. It would be pleasant to see similar strength of character in Ryan Colclough.

But if he were to cop a conviction on this one, surely there could be no reprieve, and the club would be seen

Misogynist? ***ist? Are you for real?

You are right to pass on a subject when so obviously out of touch with reality and without knowing my personal views on women and equality. Something I am very well known in some circles for supporting actually.

The post was about Ryan Colclough not CE - why do you hijack every post and just go off on another tangent ?

As female I take objection to your comments about rape and is probably one of the worse crimes other than murder. To attempt to draw a comparison between RC and CE is in very poor taste. One is a convicted person whilst the other is alleged and not convicted.
