You beat me to it... Just saw this pop up on Twitter.

I think the important word here is 'accused', rather than 'convicted', and lets be careful not to jump to any conclusions regarding his future at the club.

However, have put himself in a position where he can be accused of such things is wreckless at best. He's a new father and just been acquitted of a similar offence. A few Saturday nights sat at home watching the X Factor and doing the night feeds wouldn't do him any harm.

He seems to be putting himself in positions that do him no credit. He is a footballer who, for whatever reasons, has not played football for over a year. My view is that he is unproven, and probably not worth the hassle and therefore at the first opportunity we let him go.

Get rid. Sack him for gross misconduct, I'm sure it'll be in his contract that if he brings the of Crewe Alexandra into disrepute he can be dismissed. Lets face it he's contributed nothing to the club in the last year and now with yet another court hearing hanging over him he is unlikely to for at least the rest of this season. Even if he is found not guilty the lad obviously puts himself into situations that are at best questionable.

In turn obviously this will free up wages enabling The Alex to sign a certain striker currently on trial

Now West Midlands Crown Prosecution Service has charged Colclough with assault by beating and obstructing or resisting a police officer in the execution of his duty.
    -------------------------------------------------------------
That is a very serious charge and if found guilty can't see him staying out of Jail and at that point CFAC couldn't be expected to keep him on really.

As said, why on earth did he put himself in that situation and especially so soon after the previous altercation?

Fistacuffs with a member of the public is one thing but with a police officer?

Beating up any member of the public is totally wrong, whether it is a police officer, a high court judge, a member of the royal family or just plain old Joe Bloggs. They are all human beings and are entitled to the same fair treatment.

Heard it on radio joke on the way home - is this guy a magnet for trouble.

Evidently fit enough to hit the town but not fit enough to play football. As someone who had recently become a father you would have thought he would have enough to do with changing nappies or feeds or don't footballers do mundane things like that !

He has been paid all season and no appearances yet ? Where do you draw the line in being in a privileged job but burning the candle at both ends when your are not fit for your day job? Taking the ... i think.

What a pillock - enough said and get rid.

And I hope that he is covering his own legal costs and the Club aren't helping out.

There is much criticism of the relatively low wages that the Alex pays its players, players of all ages. I have long been of the opinion that £20k to £25k a year for teenagers is a lot of money, too much for some to handle. Young Mr Colclough seems keen to confirm this.

I'm not disagreeing with that Mick but evidence given by a police officer is no
