Just thought I'd link this as normally so many,like john65 for instance, have lots to say about the British involvement in the Middle East and yet they seem strangely silent on this major headline.

The fact that allagations that had already been withdrawn from an enquiry were proved to be false doesn't actually say anything about anyone, except that in this particular instance, some people made up stories about the people who had illegally invaded their country and held them prisoner for having the downright cheek to defend it against aforementioned illegal invaders.

Is there a rule that if you used to serve in the British Army that you have to stick up for everything they do on behalf of the politicians they fight for or something?

There's good & bad everywhere & the army is no different, anyone with half a brain will be aware of this so there's no need to be so defensive.
