Interesting post as my original point about him all those years ago was to have a realistic view on him when many were obsessing about where he was going and for how much.

When you say testament to good management do you mean the management who brought him through or the off pitch management who was brought in by admission to get good prices for delays in and out and openly said he was for said, no bids etc. it's a difficult one to now answer t

Ah yes Zaha and Ince : quality players long snapped up? Great career moves they made - Zaha a couple of years in the wilderness of barely playing and the occasional loan before being sold at a £10 million loss. Ince - free transfer to Hull, occasional starts, bounced around on a couple of loans to lower league teams.

Can't believe you're bringing this up again. The thread you denied existed... then were exposed for secretly deleting the thread the day before. LOL.

So if I were Will, I'd conclude that my career was developing well with regular starts for a leading championship team, an appearance at Wembley and a burgeoning under 21 international career too.

A big fish maturing in a small pond until he can step up to a bigger pond in his own good time.

Unfortunately by adopting a strategy to sensibly develop his future, and not seeking a big money move into possible obscurity, this makes someone with a tenuous grip on reality conclude he is worthless as he has not been sold. Bizarre.

I have artwork by Salvador Dali at home which I haven't sold because I don't want to. That doesn't make it worth any less, does it? On your basis the Mona Lisa is worth nothing as no one has tried to buy it?

So this is the fifth transfer window about to close and after being repeatedly be being told no bids rapid and a few others want to quote me on that. Thank you for proving right.

admit it rats, you miss me when I'm not giving you the attention that you so crave, that's why I get so many mentions in your posts :-P

I'm in a generous mood this morning so i'll humour you.

so the topic...£500k overhyped hughes. one of my favs incidentally.

how many games do you get to now days? I'd say hughes is in scintillating form at the moment. a joy to watch.

of course you claim to have been 'proved' right but nobody knows whether we've had bids or not. it's n

Better players like Ince and Zaha - how many starting appearances did they make between them at their respective clubs following big money moves?

Would it be fair to say that both of their careers took something of a dip after these moves. Meanwhile Will got more games under his belt, strengthened physically and has become an all round better player staying at a club where he is wanted and pivotal to the teams success.

As a side note Hughes will most likely start on Saturday whilst 'better player' Ince is most likely to warm the bench.

Hughes first on team sheet along with Martion IMO.

Thats another classic Ratism, must rank alongside the statement that McLaren and co were brought into improve the club and had failed to do so!!

Though hang on a minute, hasn't Mac brought Ince in on loan? Does that mean in rats eyes, given the statement above that Mac has signed a key player??
