Deadline day ... Transfer window number 5

Do two years ago when apparently Hughes was leaving form £5m and I said at the time then we would be lucky to get £500k some of you tried to laugh.

So this is the fifth transfer window about to close and after being repeatedly be being told no bids rapid and a few others want to quote me on that. Thank you for proving right.

So the. Is this the window is about to slam shut. Is Hughes going to leave in this one or is rapid going to actuay admit I was right?

City asked about Hughes last January but we wanted 10m. Liverpool have first refusal on him but no bids from them yet, but they have scouts here most weeks

Yeah and Liverpool hane first refusal and were signing him for £7m last January transfer rumour.

When rumour becomes fact. We had loads of rumours like that but none just seem to be true do they. He was going to Barcelona for £15m remember. Or maybe he isn't actually as good as the hype

Any Derby supporter at the game last Tuesday will have enjoyed the brilliant performance by Hughes and be in no doubts of his quality. Who gives a toss about an ancient historical claim by Ratbag? We will have to wait a while until he is actually sold before his market value is confirmed and hopefully that won't be soon.

A player of quality will dazzle against poor, mediocre and good opposition.

Average players will look good against poor and some mediocre teams but a passenger against good opposition ... Does that sound familiar.

Blackenedwhite FIVE ... Yes FIVE transfer window. And will he still be here.

A quality player would be gone £10m or not. ocular-chamberlin ... Wallcott ... Etc

    Let's see hey

Right about what? That he is not worth £7 million, £5 million or £15 million? No way of knowing as Derby don't want to lose him and have quoted £7 million as the minimum fee they would accept.

Hughes signed a new deal, good work by the club and an indication that he does not want to leave, so lets look at the facts, IF the player does not want to move and the club do not want to sell then why would a bid come in for him?

Given what has happened to other youngsters who a

I'm interested, would YOU have sold Hughes for £500k at the time because in your words 'we would be lucky to get £500k' ?

    If not why not?

True Derby County supporters dont lie awake at night worrying about how much Will Hughes is worth. If they worry about anything it is will he be bought by another club. As our best player real fans dont want to see him go. The fact hes still here is a testament to the good work of management and the common sense of the player. To imply that he is not worth much is provocative and silly as pundits and managers throughout the country think hes one of the best prospect we have.
