No ...YOU will be first to moan. In fact, you started long ago.
When will you ever make your first complimentary remark about MacClaren or Rush?

Note: the loan policy means we aren't saddled with debt so much should we fail to get promotion. The owners will not have stupidly allowed the same recklessness we saw the end of the Pickering regime and the extra TV and gate receipts will have helped the finances.
I think fairs fair here, there were a dwindling number of people on here who supported the strategy of GSE from early on and Rattea was definitely one of them. That long process of rebuilding which lead us to the majority of the team that so nearly got promoted under Steve last year.

What Rattea is saying is not about long
I've always been a staunch supporter of the owners of the club and they way they have done things especially when certain culprits slated them constantly and have completely changed tac now.

However it's an interesting senario that gambling now could waste all that hard work. Rapid not known for telling the truth is quoting figures of £18k for certain players wages, others are saying we are paying a massive amount of Bents wages and if rumours are to beleive money is being thrown at it now.

What happens if it doesn't work out. It's all to easy to laugh at florest but where might we be in 18 or even 12 months time if this season fails. It's one hell of a gamble to be taking. Ready assured I don't think McClaren will stick about should the coffers run dry and it's back to the drawing board having to sell players to raise funds to buy other ones and balancing the books. Remember what a mess of the accounts ravenelli made!

All good if it wo

The Chesterfield game was worth about 200k to us.

If we beat Raeding, we'll get about 350k.

It will also be more than likely be a televised game in the next round, which is worth 220k plus gate receipts.

That will cover most of Albentosa, Warnock, Bent, Ince and Lingard if you take into account Naylor, Coutts, Sammon, O'Brien and Freedman have gone off the wage bill in one form of another.

Also, it looks like 30k will be there against Bolton. An extra 2/3000 on the gate is probably worth 40-60k every home game. That will cover most of it. Plus we're seeing an increase in season ticket sales.

You have to speculate to accumulate, and i think we're going about it just right. Finances aren't being trouble, especially if we can get through against Reading - which we should do with this squad.

I haven heard Rush or Vicars say that recent transfer activity has done anything to take us out of compliance with FFP. I am sure that income streams are well up on last year, due to positivity on and ff the pitch. Thats makes us more able to deal more on players.

Only time will tell when the accounts are revealed, but I trust in Rush. He has never been one to compromise on FFP so dont believe he is now!

Not a big fan of these minutes applause here there and everywhere. If gonna do it, then wait till Brett is over for matches (he said he is over in the next month or so). Guess his cancer treatment is preventing him travelling here much at moment. He's a real fan who connects with us. If gonna do it, then do it when he's here!

Put it this way, if we get through to the semis of the cup, we'll have a lot more money than what we spent.

Winning Round 5: £180,000
Gate Receipts after split: 125,000

Winning Round Six: £360,000
Televised game: £180,000 per club
Bumper gate receipts.

Winning round 6 would also enable a Wembley ticket bonanza and a losers prize money of £450,000.

As you can see, a win against Reading and a nice 6th round draw would pay it all off and more.

I don't even think we're that stretched anyway, tbh.

Rattea, you may have a point, but this time around we have not:
a: Bought players who are over 30.
b: Given any over 30 long contracts
c: Gone way beond wage structure
d: Sold best players for change

We have:
a: Lend players for cover in weak positions
b: Bought young talent to develop
c: Given proven players new better contracts
d: Lend young playes from the best clubs to fill weak positions.
e: Not sold any players regular in 1.team

All in all I think it is a much sounder strategy, and if we fail we are not in the position we were last time.
