    A Round Of Applause

After taking much criticism in the past I think the board ought to be thanked by us all for their backing in this transfer window. They have shown that they really do want the club to be promoted.

Agreed. I was very anti board in the first years of their tenure , but having seen the change since MacLaren walked through the door I take it all back

I've always been a staunch supporter of the owners of the club and they way they have done things especially when certain culprits slated them constantly and have completely changed tac now.

However it's an interesting senario that gambling now could waste all that hard work. Rapid not known for telling the truth is quoting figures of £18k for certain players wages, others are saying we are paying a massive amount of Bents wages and if rumours are to beleive money is being thrown at it now.

What happens if it doesn't work out. It's all to easy to laugh at florest but where might we be in 18 or even 12 months time if this season fails. It's one hell of a gamble to be taking. Ready assured I don't think McClaren will stick about should the coffers run dry and it's back to the drawing board having to sell players to raise funds to buy other ones and balancing the books. Remember what a mess of the accounts ravenelli made!

All good if it works out but what if it doesn't! Those applau

I think we're being very astute at everything we're doing at the minute. We're building from a position of strength and we are putting an awful lot of thought into the players we're signing.

A big thing about this board I like is that I can't imagine them making a significant loss on any of our players; with Connor Sammon being the exception (which was arguably the signing that meant that the board didn't trust Clough to spend any more money)

Having a scouting setup like the one we have is a fantastic investment. I remember talking to Peter Gadsby about Jim Smith, and he mentioned how we bought Bjorn Otto Bragstad on the back of video footage. Can you imagine Derby risking cash like that now?

I think there's a massive difference between the spending now and the lavish exploits of the late Jim Smith era, Paul Jewell, Billy Davies and managers like them today.

The boat's being pushed out at exactly the right time.

We're leaving nothing to chance and the board deserve all the

No ...YOU will be first to moan. In fact, you started long ago.
When will you ever make your first complimentary remark about MacClaren or Rush?

Note: the loan policy means we aren't saddled with debt so much should we fail to get promotion. The owners will not have stupidly allowed the same recklessness we saw the end of the Pickering regime and the extra TV and gate receipts will have helped the finances.
