    re: Don't shoot the messenger

Gangway has heard the same information that I heard.

I posted nearly 2 weeks ago on another message board that a source had claimed to have heard from a 1st team player the deal was all agreed in Jan. The 1st team player has only been with us a short while, hasn't played much, but we think he is a legend. Game of Thrones springs to mind

I have no reason to doubt the information and only 2 days after I had heard the info the papers started re-hashing the rumours again. I was even advised to lump some cash on it happening, I was going to put £50 on but couldnt find where on bet365 to do it.

Im unsure how people could say it is impossible for McLaren and Newcastle to speak. All that Newcastle would have done in Jan is contact Derby, ask about McLarens availability, Rush would have spoken to McLaren who said he was interested, Rush would have agreed a big compensation package with Newcastle with the clause that McLaren leaves at the end of the season, its simple really.

Seeing as both Rush and McClaren have publicly denied that any contact or approach has been made by Newcastle they would both look very silly If a deal had been done.

Dyche has denied any interest in Derby or by Derby.

Newcastle have approached another manager in any case and a deal is being worked out which should become public in a week or so.

Silly to who if they moved on and how.much would they care.

How.many times in football do people say nothing has been heard to find it has!

But in your world swale it's always what suits you that counts!

Whatever the truth of the Toon rumour, something stinks at the club. I always knew we had a crap match in us but the way March went, who saw that coming.

No smoke without fire in this case.

Mac has never closed down rumour, just skirted round it.

So we really did sign McCormack, Rhodes then?

So when Dyche dismissed the rumours by saying "its just paper talk I'm happy here" which is exactly what McClaren did thats not closing it down?

Where the papers are concerned theres always smoke without fire! By and large one cannot believe 75% of whats written!

As for March - so the injury list had nothing to do with results then?

I think your putting 1 and 1 together and making 3, for me its all just gossip, we will see no doubt at the end of the season.

    [quote="Gallagher23"]Happy Easter Chaps.

I don't enjoy writing this, but received news this morning from my sources that McClaren has done a deal with Newcastle.

I didn't probe too much but was also informed that the atmosphere at the club the last 6 -8 weeks has not been good, especially since Round arrived. No idea as to if this is down to coaching methods, personality or what is happening with Mac's uncertain future.

    Before my credentials are hammered...

Wish to be clear this is purely what I have been told from a reliable source which I am repeating. You may have noticed that I also provided news on a coach's return to the club way before it was announced.

I hope this isn't the case but if true, would make sense as to why the slump in form.

Could I blame Mac for leaving for Newcastle? Not really, a huge club with huge potential where the fans deserve better than they currently have. I always thought though if we did go up, Mac would stay and see ou
