Thread: Don't shoot the messenger

    Don't shoot the messenger

    Happy Easter Chaps.

I don't enjoy writing this, but received news this morning from my sources that McClaren has done a deal with Newcastle.

I didn't probe too much but was also informed that the atmosphere at the club the last 6 -8 weeks has not been good, especially since Round arrived. No idea as to if this is down to coaching methods, personality or what is happening with Mac's uncertain future.

    Before my credentials are hammered...

Wish to be clear this is purely what I have been told from a reliable source which I am repeating. You may have noticed that I also provided news on a coach's return to the club way before it was announced.

I hope this isn't the case but if true, would make sense as to why the slump in form.

Could I blame Mac for leaving for Newcastle? Not really, a huge club with huge potential where the fans deserve better than they currently have. I always thought though if we did go up, Mac would stay and see out the job. If he does go though, thats football b

Wouldn't surprise me if true and would explain a few things. IF true, I just wish McClaren gone now to be honest.

Again, IF, this has caused tensions within the club and this is the reason for the slump in form I am angry at the players. Despite unsettled goings on, players should always give 100% for their club, regardless. They are representing the club and the fans and should always give maximum effort for their own pride if nothing else!!!

As I say, this is IF there is any foundation to this story

It is best he goes now imo.

Let's face it, whoever is in charge until the end of the season cannot do any worse than McClaren has been doing for the past 6 or 7 games.

All the more reason to be pleased if we don't go up this year. The last time we went up it was a disaster mainly because Billy Liar was more interested in getting a big pay rise than concentrating on getting a team together to compete in the Prem. If mac goes and we did go up by the time we got a new manager in it would be too late again.

The uncertainty of Mac going may be one of the reasons for the fall in form but certainly not the only reason. Disappointed in the way he has handled the Newcastle situation though.

If he went do you think Martin and Hughes would follow him? If Dyche came would he bring Shackell in with him? Interesting

What a load of rubbish you will be asking us to believe in tooth fairy next He could not even have contact with Newcastle without our clubs permission and being as Sam Rush only said yesterday that no contact had been made from Newcastle As for Steve Round another stupid rumour he only works one day a week and the players speak very highly of him Don't get me wrong im not bothered if McLaren goes as long as they don't make Simmo manager personally I would like to Mcarthy or Warburton

    mistaram.

The title of the message, was don't shoot the messenger! ;-)

Official channels are not respected at all and are you honestly trying to say that "tapping up" doesn't happen? It happens all the time in every walk of life, be it in football, or in the general professional world.

In regards to Round. I agree, its an odd one but i'm just passing on what I was told and my source who provided info reliably in the past.

McCarthy? Not sure the owners would go for that, it would require selling all our footballers and buying big units to play hoof all!

Personally, I believe something's going on behind the scenes, the drop off in form is just so extreme.

    Off to Wigan tomorrow with the rest of the Derby army, we live in hope[!]128015;[!]128015;[!]128015;[!]128015;[!]128015;[!]128545;[!]128545;
