[quote="steviejay"]I've decided to post this reply for this post aswell as on another. It's on Who's to blame regarding the manger and players as still many do not want to believe there's anything wrong and it's someone elses fault.

who's to blame, 2 scenarios for you..

DERBY lose the last 4 games 12 nil each coupled with the recent run of 9 games- that is terrible. So the directors, in their blind wisdom, at SHEFF UNT call an urgent meeting with Nigel Clough. He's then sacked, he asks why?...because the results down at Derby have been awful so we have decided that it's your fault. I think Nigel would go mad and rightly so

I think also the news media would report on this story for weeks and an unfair dismissal claim would be sited. Alan pardew will not get sacked at palace for the current newcastle results..nigel clough will not lose his job at Sheff unt because of of MCCLARENS RESULTS.

I don't make this hard and fast rule in football but it's simple to

Wow, blimey..not excelled himself in 18 months has he...and no I'm not a forest fan, I actually hate the scum but you have to open your eyes and see his signings are mostly poor..yes give him time but how long...

Jamie ward can't even get a game as he's kept out by an unfit player in Russell. So looking from the side lines he sees a player every week on the pitch who cant put two passes together (Forsyth) and must wonder what the Hell!!! It dont take a genuis to work out that moral with the players will soon fall to a low eb if it hasn't started to already

So there's no wind up merchant going on here... the evidence is all over the pitch especially at the moment but the cracks have been there for ages

it saddens me how quickly football fans turn on someone who's done so well for us. ironic really that the people that complain about a lack of loyalty in football show absolutely none to their own.

there's also some very good posts on this thread.

simple question: why is it so difficult to comprehend that injuries to key players have destroyed our automatic promotion challenge? the evidence is quite clear. we were top before chris martin got injured.

stevejay says mac should have built a squad capable of replacing a player if they're injured. mac brought in Darren bent who has a phenomenal goal scoring record. he then gets injured too! in a 1 up front system you can't have more than 2 top quality strikers in your squad because you'd never keep them happy.

thorne got injured. we already had Eustace. mac brought in omar so that we had 2 good players for 1 position. what happened? they ALL got injured.

this isn't difficult to understand. it's plain and simple. black and white.

ward - if you had gone to wigan you would have known he started the game and was absolutely useless. hauled off at half time after a shocking 1st half. we then went on to dominate the game and win comfortably.

forsyth - is this as opposed to someone who was sent off on his debut for 2 rash challenges in the 1

re: I hope McClaren goes to Newcastle

As always with football fans arguments go to both ends of the spectrum.
One set wants to burn the village and sack everyone after a poor run. The other (sometimes) misses what's under their noses.
Mc has made some major errors compounded by a spate of injuries to key players. Has he handled it well? In hindsight, no... I don't for one minute think he and Simmo are planning to lose the next game and throw away points.. So do I hope he goes? NO.. I am not happy with things at the moment but I am sure nobody is..
The counterbalance this, some fans are so wrapped up in being a 'good supporter', that they miss the obvious. The Clough blindness was a great example of this, he was never going to make it better.. Time to go without a doubt.
We are not there with SM & Simmo, they are going through a rough patch and that's it. IMO they have done enough in the past 18 months to be given the chance to put it right. IF we don't go up this year, then that's a blow.. I have said before I am not 100%

What happens if 8 of his players are out...To be fair he hasn't got 8 key positions on the pitch out injured but if it was the case you'd have to give the manager time and money for loans. Problem is he's gone and built a rod for his own back by claiming such a big squad now

Can I blame Mcclaren for the injuries...NO unless the training schedule is causing problems

Can i blame an appaling ref..NO but we all know that luck works both ways and generally evens its self out over the course of the season (same for all teams not just Derby) and to be fair you can'
