Thread: I hope McClaren goes to Newcastle

I hope McClaren goes to Newcastle

It's been a good time with Steve, but Sam Rush must now recognise that all momentum has been lost and it's time for a new head coach.

Anyone who knows about football must surely understand that once momentum has been lost it is time to move on. All the signs are there. Strong leadership is now required so we are in with a chance of launching a promotion bid next season.

We have some good players at this football club but a fresh perspective is required next season.

re: I hope McClaren goes to Newcastle

I've decided to post this reply for this post aswell as on another. It's on Who's to blame regarding the manger and players as still many do not want to believe there's anything wrong and it's someone elses fault.

who's to blame, 2 scenarios for you..

DERBY lose the last 4 games 12 nil each coupled with the recent run of 9 games- that is terrible. So the directors, in their blind wisdom, at SHEFF UNT call an urgent meeting with Nigel Clough. He's then sacked, he asks why?...because the results down at Derby have been awful so we have decided that it's your fault. I think Nigel would go mad and rightly so

I think also the news media would report on this story for weeks and an unfair dismissal claim would be sited. Alan pardew will not get sacked at palace for the current newcastle results..nigel clough will not lose his job at Sheff unt because of of MCCLARENS RESULTS.

I don't make this hard and fast rule in football but it's simple to understand rule whether you or I or anyone else

What happens if that plumber has 8 of his 11 spanners all broken at the same time, what does he do then? Can you blame McLaren for the injuries, can you blame McLaren for Grant punching the ball into the back of his own net, can you blame McLaren for some of the appalling refs we have had recently? Can you blame McLaren for Keogh not clearing the ball properly at Wembley?

    2 questions for you.

If we finish in the play offs, would you still hope he leaves at the end of the season?

Do you think Brendan Rogers should be sacked for the job hes doing at Liverpool?

At Derby we have a Similar scenario IMO. Brendan Rogers almost guides Liverpool to the title. This season fans expectation is that they would be challenging for the title again yet they will probably finish 4th. Even still, none of the Liverpool fans i know want Brendan sacked.

Mclaren guided us to a 3rd placed finish last season and this season we are course to secure another top 6 finish, yet you want him to walk.

As ive said in another thread, we are often too quick to critise a manager that will probably lead us to 2 play off finishes in 2 years. That is a massive achievement would you not agree? ... so maybe thats 3 questions

As for momentum, we are unbeaten in 3 games, im sure it will be 4 games by the end of today, just chillllllllllll ouuuuut.

A bad patch of form, the 1st bad patch in 18 months, is the perfect reason to dismiss your coaching team and start from scratch, I totally agree.

I agree even more with the comments about Sheff United, we should be obsessed with them, apparently they have a good plumber.

    I think you're talking ********.

I like Steve McClaren and he's had a good thrash at it.

What I am saying is that we need to change Head coach at the end of the season unless McClaren is certain he can re-invigorate the current squad next season.

We've had some bad luck with injuries this season, but in hindsight SM's favoured system relies too much on 2 key players (Martin and Thorne).

I would also like to point out AGAIN that McClaren has yet to sign a player of his own who is regarded as a KEY player (i.e. first on the sheet).

Your reasons are why the board will be patient and not make a rash decision and I think that's right but our current collapse is no one elses fault. He's had money, time, time to plan, build a squad to cover injuries, work on systems

some of his decisions recently are poor and have helped cost Derby the auto places. People cant keep harping on about the injuries, he has one of the biggest squads in the league. look at the martin situation...did he bring in cover...well, yes he did actually..Leon Best...Come on people what a great Loan that turned out to be..Defenses are worried now we've got Leon!!!!!!

The board, rightly so, will wait and see if

This is a pathetic post by a pathetic fan.

Support the team for God's sake!

There have been 6 weeks of poor performances
( having been top of the league ) and you are saying sack the manager in spite of the good football throughout the entirety of the other 16 months of MacClarens term as manager. Whatever you say an unusual injury crisis has played a major part in the loss of form.

Its no different from Man City being likely to sack Pellegrini when they
