Thread: Crewe v Walsall

Sadly dropping yet another 2 Points means this has become a very important week that's no longer in our hands. If any of Leyton Orient or Notts County win their game in hand then it really drags us back into the thick of things.

Can only really echo what's already been posted. Haber was excellent and although he was struggling, everything positive went through him. Ajose, especially first half had one of his better games. First touch seemed to be there caused some problems, especially the through ball to send Haber through and the assist in the goal.

Might seem slightly harsh but felt Nolan was a slight hindrance we he came on. I know he offers height but he seems to drop back to far and causes his own Center Halfs problems when clearing long balls. He also seemed a little to causal on the ball but did break up play very well at times. I'm hoping another season around the first team will benefit him.

It pains me to say this but sadly but the only way I can see us staying up is if No

    Crewe v Walsall

It was an entertaining game yesterday, and there in lies the simple answer as to why we are where we are.

The current team that we have is good enough to stay in this division, the problem is that they are not good enough to dominate games week in and week out and get the number of points we need to comfortably pull off an escape that looked impossible in October (11 games played 4 points on the board ).

I do blame SD and NB for that because for the second season in a row we started the campaign with a threadbare squad nowhere near the required standard.

Whatever the next two weeks bring that shouldn't be allowed to happen again.

As for Rabchuka,he has done very well, and for me goes down as one of SD's better signings, surprised to seeing continuing veiled criticism from a certain poster !

Nolan looks a decent prospect, but I am afraid he was almost like an additional centre half yesterday in the second half and his poor control that led to the deflected shot that cost us 2 points. It is tough for young players in this situation. Jones got done on the touchline for the equaliser when we played Leyton Orient last week. Youngsters are going to make mistakes. Indeed players at this level will make errors. Just a fact of life I am afraid

Indeed. Young, growing bodies are more likely to need a rest, and few youngsters (some notable exceptions) are mistake-free all game.

I am going to presume (and apologies if I'm wrong and out of order), but if I am the 'certain poster' with the 'veiled criticism' of Rachubka. I did, in fact, praise his performance. I'd still rather have a fully fit and functioning Ben in goal.

The question I would ask is, based on the solid defence - especially the back four - has Alan Tate served his purpose? He's out injured, but in the previous two or three games his passing has been suspect. He has managed to coax and advise our youngsters into improving their game, and I am very grateful for that, but would he be an expensive coach if we bought him? This really is a question rather than an opinion.

I'd sign him, without him we'd be already down, he's been a massive influence.

Wherever we finish, if we can start with him and Harry at the back next season, and Marcus and Lauri up front then that would be solid foundations.

To rub salt into the wounds,Mr Tom Edwards(goalscorer)mother was on my train home to Shrewsbury.
Agree it was a game of 2 halves, ran out of steam, how they can`t be fit for 90 min`s is beyond me.

Can't agree with Tate gone-saw him hobbling around on his crutches before the game on Saturday

Maybe he has returned to his parent club for work on his injury.

He was at the game Saturday, and is duty bound to report back to his parent club if a loan ends due to injury.

Lets focus on the facts rather than try to create a story !
