    Crewe v Walsall

Was a bit like deja vu today - looked good in the first half especially going forward and think in particular LDV & Haber will make a great partnership for next season (just hope it's still in league 1)

2nd half was completely predictable - they looked knackered and their goal was always coming despite it being a tad fortunate... but we rarely threatened 2nd half which was disappointing being in our current position.

Not a game of much note - think Rachubka has come on well and done well - the rest puff and puff but overall disappointing.

With Leyton Orient losing and Crawley winning things still look bleak and with games in hand need two good results now! But we did it last year we can do it again.

Anyone else think the management were to blame? They brought off the target man and goal scorer and mom and that killed the game. Every clearance was won by Haber allowing us to attack. When he came off our clearances came straight back. This meant they could create chances. And score. Pathetic decision.

According to Davis he was tired?? Maybe a straight swap for Uche would have been better..

Marcus was excellent, they couldn't handle the guy, even when he was 'tired' we had the outlet. From the moment he went off, we dropped 5 yards and then a lucky goal, but was on the cards. 2 extra points with today's results would have been brilliant, but we are Crewe!

As a Vale fan I was listening to the second half. To be fair both Graham Mcgary and Peter Morse were begging Davis to take him off as apprantley his legs had totally gone and it was like you were playing with 10 men.

He certainly didn't look tired to me. He was still closing down the keeper at every opportunity.

Aside from taking him off, what a performance. He was excellent, won his headers, beat a few players, created things, his control is very good to.

Also, you may have noticed I am not a fan of Turton but today I thought he actually played quite well.

I think it comes down to, it doesn't matter if Marcus was tired or not (something we'll probably never know) there was a straight like for like subtitute sitting on the bench and it wasn't Ryan Colclough.
I have no problem with Colclough coming on I think he does add to the team although probably not quite match fit yet, but for me he should have come on for Nicky Ajose who did look tired ironically enough

Haber was knackered and had to go off. Not replacing him with Uche was a shocking decision. Didn't even change our tactics to compensate for having 3 small forwards. Cost us massively.

I was impressed and entertained yesterday - but all things are relative. Impressed, because it was a much better performance than previous games, and I've seen the last 5; entertained, because we were playing a side of a similar standard.

I thought Haber's substitution was wrong - but then I didn't realise he was knackered; and, on the last few games, I thought the Colclough replacement was absolutely right. Ikpeazu has been off form at Posh and Chesterfield; Coco has looked lively.

It was also good to see big Granty trying to lead from the front in the 2nd half. His frustration at the lack of drive around him was obvious.

Great to see Garratt warming up pre-match. Rachubka has been an improving substitute, but not a patch on 'our own'.

Where is Inman? On form, he'd have relished that game. Walsall were the ideal opposition for his bustling, charging style.

In ancient parlance: 'We wuz robbed by a bizarre, freak goal!'
