Radio Stoke have reported, as I recall, that Norton United would have to pay £20,000 to rent their stadium for next season. They aren't in debt, in part thanks to their FA Cup run this season - maybe their landlords saw that and pound signs started appearing. They have been playing at Newcastle and Market Drayton recently with gates under 50. As their average gate was only just over 100 they clearly took the responsible (and sad) decision NOT to get into significant debt - would that a few league clubs (some VERY local to Norton) took that view and didn't end up owing local businesses and charities a lot of money.
