ZS, I'm really not sure what point you're trying to make (other than ya boo sucks)? Celtic SHOULD win the treble EVERY season right now. No-one else comes even halfway close to Celtic in terms of turnover, facilities, contacts, profile and so on. Celtic can afford far better players than any other Scottish club. They should be able to run a squad capable of playing and dominating in all domestic competitions every season as WELL as putting up a show in Europe.

The fact that they can't do this, especially post-Buns, tells you why Collins is happy to blame other clubs for Celtic's perceived woes. The fact that Celtic fans then lap this drivel up says more about them than anyone else.

Over the course of a season we should be the best team in Scotland and we have been for some time now.

Cup games are a one-off that can go either way. Its not as easy to win a treble as the diddies would like to believe.

My mistake Celtic did indeed win the league cup, and Aberdeen didn't win anything, however there is a reason for this, all the teams below us have slow unintelligent Scottish players who do not provide us with the challenge we require to compete with Celtic !!!

John, I'm afraid nothing has been taken out of context. Nor do Collins' comments relate to anything McInnes has said.

Collins was quite black and white about things - there are no players in Scotland that can exploit Celtic if they pour forward in numbers, lose the ball and leave themselves short in defence.

In contrast, McInnes said he did not think any Scottish team would test the tactical discipline of Aberdeen the way Rijeka did at Pittodrie. He did not say that no team in Scotland could not test us our shape etc.

    Big difference.

You've characterised Collins' comments wrongly above. No one would deny that Scottish sides are generally poorer than most of the sides in European competition. But that's not what he said.

It's plainly untrue for him to say that there are no players playing in Scotland that can hurt Celtic. If there weren't his boss wouldn't have just signed 3 attacking players from United, and Celtic would set up with 8 up front when they come to Pittodrie

Is Collins not entitled to his opinion even if you believe he is wrong?

    re: Scottish players

heres a few points i need to bring up.

collins is not the first to come up with this opinion, it has been brought up for years many times including by the media and buns, and there was no backlash then, so why a backlash now, is it cos its celtic who make this claim now.

i dont agree 100% what collins said, if i did i would expect celtic to win many trebles which they dont, infact thier cup record is shocking and has been for a long time. i do however agree partly with what collins says but think he should be more respectful and not share his opinion with everyone.

the hypocrisy of the diddy and the bun knows no bounds.

amazing how d murray used to always rabbit on about rangers being too big for scottish football as did the media and there was little backlash from anyone, yet if celtic even hint at that they get pelters for it.

rant over, rangers are deed and god save whoevers needing saved.
