I've said this numerous times on this board. His position is up front, but he's not the type of striker that we play up front. Apparently he plays the best as one of two up front and that would mean changing our whole formation for the sake of one player, which is daft. Especially when we're just starting to get into our stride. I see a future for Butterfield. I just don't see how Weimann will ever break into the first team and establish himself. Nor do I see how we thought he was going to fit into the side when we initially signed him.

    Fair observations RBF.

On the subject of Butterfield & Wiemann, had they have been put in our squad 3 or 4 years ago they would have been star players. eg. Remember Brayford? Hailed as the 2nd coming, yet when put in a better team struggled to have any impact, and in his case, simply wasn't good enough.

Players with their quality are less likely to shine in such a strong team / squad, it doesn't make them any less of a player.

Take your point RamBam, but in effect you're agreeing with me, he hasn't had the opportunity to play in his favoured position, so by likening him to a 'rabbit' - by which I imagine you mean 'fast but otherwise useless', rather than...'likely to come good around Easter' - you're being, imo, unfairly derogatory towards a young 24 year old player who has recently moved to a new city and a new club.
